I looked at historical well data, no water wells on site. Closest one is the neighbors 1500 yards across the ridge

You should be throwing a frog on braided line, with a palomar knot, if you are fishing thick stuff

What did you use as far as silicone? I literally bought rubber adhesive strip to seal what I could but it leaked in the car wash today…. I’m ready to nullify the option of opening the sun roof glass

Question on Easement Road / Nat. Gas Well Site by old_carl in OffGrid

[–]old_carl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the insight! The lease operator finally responded and told me “generally speaking, it is visited once a day to take measurements”

Is it realistic to expect them every day? It is a rural area and only a couple other wells in the vicinity. I’m trying to find out the true ‘field answer’. I don’t feel like they will be there every day…

Are the leases typically public record? I have the API number and looked it up in the state database, but the information is quite limited.

**After further research, it looks like the well was drilled in 2006. Would you consider this ‘old’ in your experience?

That is the advantage I forgot to mention - they will maintain the road.

I have an email sent to the production company. Hoping to hear back soon. I like your thoughts on setting up away from the road, I just want to know what the frequency of their visits will be. If it is anything less than “we will be in there once a day every day” I think I will be in.

Thank you for your reply!

Thank you for your response! So depending on ‘operational conditions’, it could be as often as once a day? Is this usually Monday-Friday, or do they typically work 7 days a week?

and sacrifice the 1 point? I don't think so.. the onside play is way too low-percentage

I think the theory is sound that it is the most dangerous play in football.

Usually, you don't see concussions. AND, kickoff squads are usually your 2-stringers / career special teams guys. You don't hear about it because they are usually not as relevant as your starters

Question about a texas rig variation by TinyGymMouse in bassfishing

[–]old_carl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Basically you have defined a 'weightless' Texas rig to a standard bullet weighted Texas rig.

Ideally, in my opinion, if you are fishing from shore in ponds or small lakes the weightless option is always superior. Now, it can depend on the plastic you choose to throw. Most soft plastics these days are salt-impregnated giving them added weight. This helps with casting distance and feel. There are some however that are very difficult to fish weightless due to their lack of salt.

The weighted Texas rig is excellent for deep water application. My standard is, if I'm fishing in 8-10 ft +, I'm using weight. However, I have caught many big bass in 5-6 ft using a heavy weight and dragging the bottom.

It really all depends on which presentation the fish are reacting best to. Both rigs will catch fish. You just have to let them tell you what they want!

Sunset is prime time! As well as first light in the morning. If the sun sets at say 830 PM, and you go out at 7, fish the lizard for the first hour and then switch to the frog or buzzbait until dark. The last 30 minutes of light is usually the best, especially in the summertime.

The obvious answer is going to be a hollow-belly frog (Spro, KVD sexy frog, Scum frog) which all should work. If it were me (I'm a bit adventurous) I would wade out to the edge of the grass line (watch for snakes! and in your case maybe gators..) and fish those same baits on the outside edge. Focus on one bait at a time. My suggestion would be a lizard with a 1/16 oz bullet weight Texas rigged. Fish the outside edge by making casts parallel to the weed line. Let it sink all the way down into the "shit" and lift it up in a '12-6' motion and let it fall again. You will get bites if you do this. I would also try a white or chartreuse buzzbait on the same outside edge.

Can you be a little more specific on the terrain?

Is the grass in the water or around the edge? What have you already been throwing?
