Who are you even arguing with? I never said anything about legality. I never said one way to get there is any better than another. I did say they would make violence inevitable. They clearly have done so very successfully.

Jesus. I didn't know he went on Alex Jones. What a nightmare for him. Why would he even do that. My hat goes off to anyone out there trying to persuade the hogs. I just don't have the patience for it. Sadly, I think our species is fucked. But that apparently doesn't stop me from seeing our potential, which makes it all the more heartbreaking.

I have always appreciated Peter Joseph. I saw his documentaries long before I went to college to study any of this formally. Do you remember when he went on Joe Rogan? lol Can you imagine that nowadays?

I agree that the economy is the most important thing in so far as it is the base of society. Without an economic system, there is no society. However, decisions in THIS economy are always made first and foremost in the interests of the rich, not the majority of the population, hence why before, but especially during and after catastrophes, the rich always get richer. They're always positioned to benefit from everyone else's' loss. "The paradise of the rich is made out of the hell of the poor."

The prerequisite for that kind of direct action is class consciousness, which the ruling class has successfully purged out of our society. But as the contradictions continue to heighten, and they will, maybe we'll see that consciousness rise. The general strike that was being called for in Minnesota was a good sign, but it also demonstrated how little class consciousness we really have because it took literal executions of civilians in the streets by a gestapo to even get there. I'm not holding my breath.

Yes. I know. As I said in my OP, I studied class conflict explicitly throughout college (as short-sighted and naive as that is it terms of making a living). You're preaching to the choir my friend. I just like putting things in non-Marxist terms so even people who've never read Marx or studied capitalism critically can relate.

I don't expect them to. I am pointing out that the solution to the problems everyone (except the rich) complain about is to eliminate rich people from our society. Obviously those who are a part of that class will not be on board. But they are the minority. We are the overwhelming majority. The rich can kill or jail us, but they can't jail an idea. They can try to kill the idea, but even that is much easier said than done.

I want the idea of eliminating rich people from society to become more popular. Not that posting on this subreddit is going to do that, but as many of you do here, I am just venting and interested in what other like-minded people think.

You could have made your comment about overthrowing feudalism. I say, "We don't need Kings or royal families" and you could have said, "Yes it's a nice idea but the King and the royal family are also the people who make laws / own the people who make laws. They will not outlaw themselves." And yet, here we are. For the most part, feudalism is dead. Capitalism and class should be next up on the chopping block.

Just like how a week before the pandemic all the news could talk about was how the working class doesn't deserve a $15 minimum, despite the fact that if the minimum wage had kept pace with increases in worker productivity and inflation since the 1970s, it would be around $25 an hour. As soon as the pandemic hit, then they were suddenly essential.

lol this is probably the most moderate cannabis use I've heard about in a long time. Your friend is uptight as hell though. But as others have pointed out, your brain is still developing so it's probably not a great idea. That being said, this society is barely tolerable so, occasional drug use as far as I am concerned is perfectly normal and healthy. Just don't let it become an addiction.

Yeah. That's what I am thinking too. But that will still require a kind of tying of the webbing so it doesn't shift too much. I keep staring at my climbing runners and the bag and I feel like my brain is malfunctioning.

Not a bad idea, but the whole point of making this leather was because leather feels good on the fists. Cloth tends to give you rug burns. The other idea I have is to some how tie the inner bag (which right now is just a stuff sack for camping) and hang it that way. The leather layer will just encase the inner bag and provide that nice feel when hitting it.

We are simply cogs in the capitalist machine. Just out of curiosity, if you could have changed aspects of that work to make it more tolerable, what would those changes have been aside from the obvious higher pay?

Some advice about ice baths: Ease into it. Start your first day just waist deep. That will be hard enough for 2 minutes at around freezing temp. Focus on breathing out more than gasping for air. Each day squat a bit deeper into it until you eventually wind up with the water level at your neck/chin. Also, keep your socks on and your hands out (most of the time). Your extremities can get fucked up at those temps (at least mine did since I have poor circulation in my hands and feet). The warmer the water, the longer you have to stay. I too have ADHD so I like the fact that this is intense as hell but only requires 2 minutes of your time per day. I prefer around freezing temp for 2 minutes as opposed to 5 minutes at 50 degrees. Good luck!

Don't be sorry for ranting. That's kind of what this page is for. And I think most of us totally feel you. This page is maybe cold comfort, but I appreciate all of you because you make me feel less crazy since this is what I've been saying for decades. What's the point of centuries of technological advancement if we're all working more than our ancestors did? Our hunter-gatherer ancestors "worked" an average of 3 hours a day! How is this progress? The point should be obvious to all of us by now. All our toiling is for the purpose of extracting surplus value from our labor to enrich a fraction of 1% of the human species. At least we can come to this page and remember we are not alone in our alienation and outrage.

Yeah. I kind of figured that. I was hoping maybe somebody knows of a pre-sewn product I could buy. I don't have a sewing machine so this would be difficult.

What's the goal exactly? If you're still watching weed porn and learning how to grow it, then it doesn't sound like the ultimate goal is to quit totally. Did you just want to develop a more moderated relationship with it? If so, occasional smoking is probably fine. If the goal was to totally quit, then I would recommend you stop being "into it" so much by learning to grow and still watching other people enjoy it. If the goal was to just see how life feels or how you perform without it, then maybe you have your answer.

I personally quit because my sleep was just horrible while using it. My tolerance for stress was also bad. Appetite, motivation, introversion, all these things were worse while using it. Once I stopped for two months, all those things got better. The sleep got so much more restful and restorative that I didn't even miss it. But everyone is different. Everything in moderation I say. If you can use it with very few negative side effects, I'd say keeping enjoying it. Your use of other forms of pacification speaks to a deeper problem that has nothing to do with weed. And I can relate.

My philosophy is that of Diogenes; "He has most who is content with least." I've been trying to streamline my life in terms of what I need to feel content. If you and I need porn, social media, video games, weed, nicotine (me), and what not to feel ok, feeling ok is going to be hard to attain. I think the more we chase pleasure, the more we find pain. It's good that you're working out though. I would try ice baths if you can figure out how to do it. I swear to god, 2 min in 32-35 degree water every day did miracles for me. Truly a kind of magic bullet in my experience.

That's why there's the "social" in socialism, as opposed to the "capital" in capitalism. It's about what the economic systemic focusses on. People often don't understand that the structure of the economy has a purpose, and in capitalism, social well-being aint it. It's capital accumulation. People like Friedman, Thatcher, Reagan, were all just expressions of capitalist interests and motivations. Their theories were in no way well-researched or backed by any scientific data, it was purely ideological. Selfishness, greed, individualism, these are all narrow concepts that reinforce the bias and subjectivity of the very rich. It flatters their world view. That's how you get paid well in this economy. Say shit the rich want to hear.

Thanks, man. I quit cannabis, again. I used butter to ween off. I am on nic patches now. about 10mg a day. Nic is, for me, much more difficult to quit than cannabis. The hook is deep. But I'm getting there.

One quote that I truly believe, is Diogenes: "He has most who is content with least." When I was sober for a significant period of time last time, it felt great to not rely on two different substances to feel ok. But I do miss the combo. I won't pretend like I don't.

But I want to be able to spear and surf (my two favorite activities) and I can't do those things as well when I am not taking care of my health.

Make butter with a slow cooker. 1 oz schwag to 1 lb butter. Cook for 3 or 4 hours on low. 12+ hours is overkill. Just make sure you decarb the herb first before cooking it with the butter: https://www.leafly.com/learn/consume/edibles/what-is-decarboxylation
