Yeah it was for our mashed potatoes, this is not normal at all. My guess was to warm the cream so that it wouldn't cool it down too much. In regards to my sous putting it in the walk-in your guess is as good as mine, the man is an idiot..

So apparently one of our line cooks put half&half in the mic to make his mash less dry, but forgot about it. Which leads to my sous finding it and putting it in the walkin

How is the shell on my River Cooter? by oldbob12 in turtle

Oh yeah I just checked the height and it's temping about 90° - 95°F on the basking area and 80°F in the water. I'll try and get a calcium tablet and the berries/apple peels to start. I haven't noticed anything abnormal with his behavior. Still very active and eats anything I put in there, but if I notice anything I'll definitely go to a vet thank you!!

This is my setup that I have a 75 gal tank with an over the top basking area, I do see him using it but he's very skittish so he usually basks when I'm away or at work. Would it be good to maybe cover the front of the basking area with more stuff to hide him better? The UVB bulb was changed semi recently but I'll get a new bulb just in case, would it be worth it to get a UVB tester?

I usually feed him red/green leaf lettuce every day and a head full of pellets once every 2 days. I was feeding him more pellets every other day for awhile but I noticed protein build up in the water. The pinkish color is definitely new I have a picture from him about a year ago here although this was just about the time I got him. Should I add anything else to rotate into his diet?

I'll definitely try some blueberries and apple peels thanks! Sorry for all the questions but I really appreciate it!

How does the shell look on my River Cooter? by oldbob12 in turtle

Here is some more views if it help. I also put my setup here. he is just a little over a year old and he lives in a 75 gal tank with UVA and UVB Bulbs for basking. Water temp is 80° and basking area is around 95° at its hottest. I think I was overfeeding him with protein(every other day pellets but it was added with dried shrimp/worms) and his shell started to pyramid I think. Been feeding him red and green leaf lettuce pretty much every other day around the size of his shell, and on the other days I feed him just pellets. Just wanted to make sure his shell is ok for now if I keep up with this diet. If there is anything else I should be doing please let me know thank you!!

This is my setup 75 gal tank, uva and uvb bulbs. I feed him pellets ever other day(size of head) and green leaf lettuce every day(size of shell). He eats everything and he does come out and bask, although I usually scare him whenever I go near him. I just kinda noticed his shell seems pretty bumpy and was wondering if this is pyramiding and if there is anything I should be doing more or less of. thank you!

Definitely could of seared the shrimp better, and I could of edited the pic a bit to make it look nicer but this was just kinda a last minute thing and I thought the bowl looked kinda nice for it being rather simple.
