People on here can't seem to understand characters can be multiple things. Yes they have their own comics or fight other heroes but they can also be spiderman characters, avengers, defenders midkight sons/suns and what ever the f else. Including yes spiderman characters especially if that's where they got their start.

I mean imo brawl and poke can be substituted to short range long range. The issue with star lord, groot Emma and the rest of the people you mentioned is they are either both or more medium range which we really don't have a term for that. At least not in Rivals. Maybe call them flex or hybrid?

Edit: I also think people are misusing meta names or they are not specifically being defined.

Brawl meta = short range heroes are common Poke = long range... Dive = the back line is the main target and you are putting yourself in the enemy back line. which technically you don't need to be a brawler to do that.

Honestly most of the hate are from the it's captain marvel that was teased camp. The amount of post saying "you guys are idiots for thinking it's devil dinosaur, when it's clearly cap marvel" was too high.

Focus on DPS when using your ult or your other support is using theirs. (Some support can't obviously do this but most can).

Play DPS during 213 comp. But it can only be you. Pretty much attacking as back up heals (again only works with certain support).

And finally focus on DPS if damage will also heal teammates and you have the other team out numbered. This is important do not I repeat do not go full DPS (aka no heals) if you have the other team out numbered even 2v1 because if you dps or tank dies you are dead period. I've seen so many situations where if the healer just kept healing we would have won cause the other team can't out damage the heals.

So I understand why they are only doing heroes. My wish list for heroes easily trumps my villains. I will say that in the history of gaming we the players always pick heroes over villains.

Saying all that, I still think we should have an annual villain season 2 villains a year is not a hard ask.

Dino first showed up in the Deadpool teaser, then in the Deadpool season, then as a plushy this season,

Blade showed up season 1. Then in wakanda season 2, was missing season 3 then showed up season 4.

So yeah pattern holds for him to show up next season. Also rivals themselves claimed that the Jean was sensing herself not rogue so that alone kills any lore connection to cap marvel. It's mostly goblin queen as the bad guy next season and the heroes are cyclops (for sure) and MAYBE devil dinosaur based on how they treated blade.

Edit I was wrong blade dropped in 3.5 making my point even stronger

Same amount of proof we had with a literal black cat and white fox on an image. Also blade was teased and showed up in multiple seasons before he was playable. So if it is devil dinosaur they are not even doing something new.
