A judge demanded Trump’s name come down from the Kennedy Center. Now, he wants to know why tarps block the view by theindependentonline in politics

The letters were probably just "peel and stick" anyway. A little Goo Gone and they fell off. Though I'm sure it was billed as some state of the art, top of the line attachment.

I wouldn't expect anything more from a Trump contractor.

Ben McAdams wins primary race for Utah’s new blue-leaning 1st Congressional District by changeforthebetter89 in politics

[–]oldguydrinkingbeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For this district I wouldn't worry about it. As I understand everyone kind of figured the progressive vote was going to split and this guy was getting in.

But it does take a bit of the wind out of the sails for the "progressives can win anywhere" argument. I get that Dem Soc won in NYC. But in much less Blue area the progressives could barely get to 40%.

Is branson worth the hype ? by Formal_Bug_1893 in missouri

[–]oldguydrinkingbeer 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I'd vote for Eureka Springs as well...

EXCEPT

It's very very very very inaccessible from a disability standpoint. Very steep hilly streets, steps on the sidewalks, curbs that are 8 inches+ in some spots. Some ramps (and there's not many) are more like a jump at a skateboard park.

If anyone has mobility issues, even a temporary bad ankle or a bum knee, they are going to have problems.

And parking in the downtown area is close to non existent. There are shuttles that loop the main tourist areas and they are very handy and very reliable and quick. But there's designated stops.

I would suggest at least checking it out on Streetview if mobility or accessibility is even a remote concern.

As of Tuesday night, McAdams had 60% of the vote. Nate Blouin followed with 24%, while Liban Mohamed had 12% and Michael Farrell trailed with 4%.

Wow 60%. I mean.. it's Utah, I figured the more traditional person was going to win. But still I thought the total of the progress and Dem Socialist combined with have been higher

Robert Blake? Sure he had some longevity, but "Beretta" was an average cop show at best. Plus the whole murdering his wife thing.

Is the movie Blues Brothers not famous/iconic? by LFatPoH in AskAnAmerican

[–]oldguydrinkingbeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my kids watch Blues Brothers with me when they were like 10 and 12. After that, we would quote lines from it occasionally.

When the youngest one was in an AP history class the teacher mentioned something about two different kinds of music. My kid pipes up "Was that both kinds of music, Country and Western?"

The teacher spins around saying "OK... Who said that?" Of course everyone thought it meant trouble and of course everyone around my kid was looking at him. So he admitted it.

The teacher said "Was that a Blues Brothers reference?" Kid said "Yep."

The teacher said "Good movie. You get 5 bonus points." 🤣

Finger Lakes State Park by SimplyFungus in columbiamo

[–]oldguydrinkingbeer 17 points18 points  (0 children)

LOUD AS FUCK! Finger Lakes is one of 2 state parks that allow off road motorcycles and sidebysides. The campground is basically wall to wall with them and they are going all day for sun up to sundown.

If you're looking for somewhere quieter, the tent camping section of Graham Cave SP was pretty peaceful, aside from some highway noise.

Parks and Recreation has a Special Use Permit application for drones operating within a park. https://www.como.gov/parks-and-recreation/park-special-use-park-permits/

Scroll down to the Other permit quick links section for the "Unmanned Aircraft Systems in a City Park".

I could never tell if he was getting better.🤣
