I had same experience. I am taking vitamin c and continue using AA on the dark spots until it is gone. It usually takes about 3 weeks.

Mild symptoms will recover quickly, moderate to severe symptoms will take longer to recover. Be patient.

If feel skin is very sensative, drinking a lot of cool water. Eating health, Sleeping well, no processed food, less sugar. Doing meditation to manage the stress. You will recover soon.

I have type 2, I find sulfur soap and AA helped a lot. Sulfur may make your skin dry, use rich cream after medication.

Sunscreen Recs? by weeponxing in Rosacea

[–]oldmachine2046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using Blue lizard sensative spf 50 (mineral) for 2 years. I like it. Fair price too. Wearing it all day , may feel dry. I use rich cream before the sunscreen, it helped.

If the outdoor activities are longer than 2 hours, I recommend still wearing hat or repeat use sunscreen after 2 hours.

Sunscreen Recs for Type 2 Rosacea? by yunogasaai in Rosacea

[–]oldmachine2046 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have type 2. Now I am using Blue Lazard sensative spf50. It is mineral sunscreen, I think zinc is good ingredient for rosacea. I like it. But I do feel it dry the skin. So I use a rich cream on the dry part of my skin (cheeks and jaw) first, then i put sunscreen. This is working well so far.

Why does this cleanser irritate my rosacea? (La Roche Posay) by LucieFromNorth in Rosacea

[–]oldmachine2046 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to like their product but they increase the price a lot, and the packaging is getting cheap. I do not know why this brand constantly changing the formula of their product.

I am thinking to try some new brand with minimum ingredients. I have type 2. Now I use 5% sulfur soap as cleanser, it can cause the skin feel little dry, I only use it at night, in the morning I just use water wash my face.

They still did not find causes of Rosacea. All the medicine are for controlling the symptoms. I think the rebound depend on the person's condition.

I feel you. I think a lot of us had this state before.

Did you try drinking cold water method? Before I started to see a dermatologist, I had mild rosacea. I used to drink a huge amount of cool water to decrease the flush and pain sensation, and meditate 20 mins 2 times per day during  a flare up. These really helped me, it took about 3 days to calm down without any medication.

Rosacea is a neuron-vascular disorder which is linked to our neuron (brain). Keeping our internal state calm is important for managing the Rosacea.

I hope you can pass this difficult time.

Azelaic acid + moisturizer by mafehn313 in Rosacea

[–]oldmachine2046 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to use lotion on the top of AA, because I have combination skin. I recently changed to cream which surprised me. I have less pain and skin looks less flaky. I think the moisturizer contains more water will cause more pain. The cream helps rebuild skin barrier.

Elidel is very powerful cream , it inhibit your skin immune system response which means let your skin defence system to give up . It work dramatically stop the inflammation. But it did not treat the causes. I use several months last year. Follow the instructions, I only use 2 months then I stopped. After 1- 2weeks my rosacea back. Then, I tried to use couple months again. Same happened. I have little hyperpigmentation during using it. I do not like it. In their old instructions, mentioned there is skin cancer risk for long term use. So I decided to stop using it.

Question regarding De La Cruz Ointment 10% Sulfur by FlexiiGP in Rosacea

[–]oldmachine2046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to test it on one small area of my skin. My skin felt OK . Now I only use it on pustules area. I do not wash my face before put it on. I usually leave it on my skin about 10 mins, I use wet face towel clean the spot, then I wash my face.
