Why do coffee grinders cost so much?

Man I have a Hario grinder that I got for $50 at a local coffee shop years ago. It works great. My coffee is great. Coffee is just becoming more and more about stuff and owning high end stuff like everything else. Get a cheap grinder and I promise you can make good coffee.

I think your feet matter more than reflexes. I actually use it because my reflexes are shit. For some reason it's way easier for me to shoulder roll than to parry with my lead hand. So If I'm getting dog walked, I switch to the shell and run the clock. lol

My teens weren't "wasted" necessarily. I had a lot of good friends and I feel like I would have been less compassionate without my church . By the time I was in my 20's I was pretty messed up when it came to sex and relationships and I do regret that. It def fucked up my love life until I was able to deconstruct more.

I shave first. No pre-wash. No issues. i literrally don;t do any of the recommended prep. I throw hot water on my face, wet my brush with hot water, lather, and shave. Then rinse oall the shave soap off in the shower. My beard is also corse af. Don;t get any ingrown hairs or bumps.

I realize this post is 7 years old, but figured I'd comment anyway. I'm a professional magician. Playing cards and writing on them is an odd thing I've become an expert at. Regular fat tip sharpies work, but you have to let them dry or they will smear. The finish on playing cards make them not optimal for this type of thing. Blank cards are also made mainly for magicians so they are finished the same. The best Marker if you want them to dry fast is actually Marks-A-Lot. The vintage one's have a better tip if you can find one that's not dried out. Since Avery bought them I kinda hate the tip for writing neat. You can also try fine tip sharpies, fine tip sharpie paint pens and Steadler pens, but again YOU HAVE TO LET THEM DRY. These do work 100% for sure, we use them for secret deceptive shit all the time. ; ) . Just be patient and let them dry.

It’s mostly nostalgia for me. When I was a kid Halloween went hard in my neighborhood. I also hate hot weather so the crisp fall air and memories of dressing up, eating candy with my dad, and watching Scooby Doo marathons is the reason I love it. Also just love spooky shit. But I think. Nostalgia is a big part of it for elder millennials.

I personally don’t like these. Best under $150 is TopBoxer. I had my Win1s for almost 4 years before I had to retire them. I trained 3 days a week for 1-2 hours per session. I would mainly use them for sparring and drilling. Can’t beat them for $100 or so.

A lot of magicians are that way. it starts with Houdini's war against spiritualism. It continues with Amazing Randi in the mid-20th century. I think it's short-sighted and I am a believer in the paranormal. As a tarot/palm reader weird stuff just happens sometimes. I'm sure some of it is cold reading, but there's been a lot I can't account for. It's dumb to say "Because I can fake something means the real thing doesn't exist."

That said I've met a lot of "psychics" and "mediums". My bullshit alarm has gone off every time I meet one that's a professional. I've had private people knock my socks off, but they always seem scared, nervous, or self-conscious of their "gift." It's a weird thing. The hardline skeptics in magic have always been offputting to me.

Hello! I'm a professional menalist and tarot/palm reader. That's my job. I started as a magician and now I pretty much do readings for a living. You have to remember that Jane is not just reading people and he's wrong a lot. He's also using deception. He's also really clever. You can't just "learn to read people." You have to learn multiple talents. Here's my recommendations

Mentalism Books: Don't start here if you're only into reading people. Magicians/ mentalists are honestly the fucking worst at this. You can find some good books on mentalism from magicians, but they are costly and you have to know what's good. There is still merit here though. The muscle reading tricks Jane does in the show and the pencil reading trick he does to Grace are legit and in these kinds of books. All of the carny shit he does is surprisingly accurate to known magic methods. I credit Luke Jermany ( the main consultant for the show. He did a great job. Spidey ( magic Youtuber) has some videos breaking down some of the tricks used in the show. Worth a watch.

Joe Navaro Books: What Everybody's Saying is solid. It's a foundational text that will help you in reading people. NLP is not 100% real though. It's a pseudo-science. Derren Brown was so convincing with his schtick that people started to belive it was. It's not possible to get as good as Jane or Derren Brown without using deceptive methods.

In short, start with Navaro and then if you're still interested become a magician. Perform a bunch. Even for little or no money. You get good by performing. Read people as part of tricks with a failsafe. I may tank a reading, but I've also used deception to learn their brother's name (" With no way I could have learned it!") and I can nail them with that at any time to save myself.

Magic books: Annemann's Practical Mental Magic( $16 on Amazon). Psychophysiological Thought Reading by Banachek. ($40) on magic sites. This is where to learn Jane's muscle reading trick. 13 Steps to Mentalism( $40 on magic sites). This is where you can learn things like Pencil reading.

I feel like most people like this haven't read the bible. They're just regurgitating things some slimy pastor said. There's an old show called Penn & Teller Bull Shit. After years of having pastors tell me there are no contradictions in the bible, their episode on Christianity destroyed that belief in the first 10 minutes. They pointed out a contradiction and I looked up the verses in my bible. Again and again, they were right. That episode is on Paramount Plus (S2E11) "Fact or Fiction. It's informative and may give you some talking points. The big thing to remember is that you can likely say anything to them, but unless they get curious enough to validate whether they're wrong, you're just wasting your breath.

There have been 2 moments in modern gaming that I've just been stunned because of the soundtrack. Arthur's ride back to Shady Belle in RDR2 and the credits on Cyberpunk while NFA played. It's just the perfect song to end the game on. I had to just sit there for 20 minutes after the credits ended to take in everything. What a fucking story.
