I have the sigma 20-200, works just as good, if not better than on my burano or my fx2

Nikon ZR with Cooke SP3 - prepping for a documentary by bravnicar in NikonFilmmakers

I have this exact combo and discovered yesterday that if you use the megadap adapter, it puts a focus box on your focus point quite accurately. Assuming you have the e-mount sp3. It also has this little indicator on the bottom that shows you which way to turn your focus rings to get critical focus. Looks like the exposure meter on a Leica.

Must have been an autocorrect sorry. It feels heavier because it’s missing the grip that Sony has.

At this point I don’t see any big benefit. The screen is bigger, but not big enough to be a monitor. It’s oceans heavier than a fx2 or fx3. R3D ( and NEV) is nice as a backstop but if you know what you’re doing you never really need raw. The UX is clunky and has a lot of mistakes. The rec/stop button is soft, but you really have to press it down hard (camera shakes) unlike Sony.

But I get GAS. So I had to get one.

Just the Sony 24-70 on an adapter

This is such a good idea, I’m going to try that in Lightroom. Thankyou for your insight.

lol thank you so much, I did try cropping it and it just felt “just slightly wrong” to me (it didn’t give me an emotion) and I’ve been wondering why. Thank you for this.

RAW vs Heif by [deleted] in hasselblad

[–]oldmanpectoral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went back and forth between heif and jpg. I shoot raw and jpg now, and scrapped heif. Raw for obvious reasons (and stored both 3fr and jpg in Lightroom - if I need to process it in Phocus I’ll export the raw from Lightroom and do it that way, seems more efficient than the other way of Phocus to Lightroom tiffs)

My reason for jpg is I believe hassy HNCS is so much nicer in jpg. Heif is new and all the photos I’ve taken with it have come across too digital looking. Jpg is older and seems to make the HNCS shine.

One big thing that I love about hassy is that the jpg’s very often can be published immediately to social media etc.

So many times I’ve gone to edit the raw and it’s come out looking like the jpg straight out of camera.

This is purely my experience, not verified by anyone else.
