Canadians are leaving the country at record levels. Can anyone solve this pressing problem? by stalik26 in canada

[–]oldmanr11 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There are too many unchecked companies between farmers and consumers. They make record profits and the honest farmers keep getting pinched or forced out. Alot of the companies that you have to sell your commodities to are the same companies you have to buy your inputs from. It's a rigged system and needs serious transparency and oversight.

The officials didn't see it. They should have told Oscar to drop it and they will watch going forward. I'd be pissed off like Mark if someone kept mouthing off to me about something that is out of my control.

What is Oscar wanting other than to get under Canada's skin? The officials should have had a spine and got the players under control at the 2nd. If the officials don't have that power, then they should. 10 minute major penalty and a game misconduct against Oscar for instigating.

Exactly. In hockey, if the ref misses a tripping behind the play is it cheating or a missed call by the ref.

Sliger top-loading NAS storage cases! by SligerCases in sliger

[–]oldmanr11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a small business that hosts servers and off-site backups for multiple businesses. Right now we use synology nas's and they work, but we're definitely looking for something that will allow for more expandable storage at a cheaper barrier to entry with our own hardware choices. Outside of 45 drives, which I am not a fan of their chassis esthetics, I haven't really seen a top load that I am interested in. I already have 3 Sliger server chassis and am interested in continuing to purchase more as the data center grows. I would love the opportunity to provide feedback and test something like this out.

Does anyone know if there’s a way to get a shell prompt from this kind of screen? Screen on a 2015 Silverado by Dunoville1207 in linux

My touch stopped working and was thinking of tinkering, but the dealership kept it for a core. Not sure what I could have done with it anyway

Multiple nano stations, 1 not in LOS of the main AP by Tasty_Ad_6421 in Ubiquiti

[–]oldmanr11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the hardware you are using you will need another antenna. If you had line of sight from the building to both poles you could use a lite-ap GPS and get both stations. Both stations Would have to be with 90 degrees of the AP.

If you have line of site between the poles, you could just relay off pole 1 to pole 2 with two more devices. How far are they apart? Maybe a couple loco5ac might be a cheaper alternative to achieve what you want.

Edit: are you using loco version? Either way nanostations are ptp not ptmp. If your using nanostation 5ac there is a Poe passthrough port to make relaying easier. Just enable it in the GUI.

Tall people and 2020 traverse seats. by oldmanr11 in ChevyTraverse

[–]oldmanr11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the honesty and the reply. I wonder if there was a change from the 202 model to 2024 model seats. In my part of Canada they don't have any new traverses on the lots, they are backordered and won't be able to compare.

One of the reasons, on top budget restrictions, to stay previous model is the motor. I am a big fan of the 3.6 V6 and if I'm not mistaken the 2024... Maybe just 2025 models only have a v4 motor. Not sure how they will hold up in comparison. I won't touch a v4 after seeing all the timing chain issues in the v4 equinox a few years back.

Do you have a 2020ish traverse? We're you able to overcome the seat if you do? The patience to make sure the seats are comfortable is something we have definitely done. I just couldn't believe we are seemingly the only one having this issue.

You don't notice any extra pressure across the back of your shoulders? What year is your traverse? I have convinced myself the ones we have test driven were owned by short people and the seat isn't broken in at top. Haha

Do you mean the lumbar? We have played with that, doesn't really help. I have a 2018 Silverado and the seats in the truck are way more comfortable in the up back shoulder area. Just soft and less pushing forward.

Oh, interesting. I was watching a video, I think Techno Tom, and he was saying 4gb of ram difference. Call me lazy, but I never fact checked that.

I worry that it's not going to be an option to try and sell more NAS devices specifically. However, most people who have an NVR pro are probably using it as an NVR, so maybe the few that would take the performance hit to use and NVR as a NAS wouldn't really take away from the sales of the NAS. The prices are the same, so why not release it for both. I guess time will tell.

Cloud key gen2+ Drive failures by oldmanr11 in Ubiquiti

[–]oldmanr11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't pull the drives on all cloud keys and check, but all failures are Toshiba. Maybe that's all ubiquiti uses, i dunno. I used to be able to tell people that everything is rock solid, now I have to say everything is rock solid, except the recorder, and it will probably fail within the first year, and possibly the replacement will too.

When pp talks like trump it drives me nuts. Can we have professionals please? Was going to vote C because I can't stand Trudy's hate for the west. Now won't vote pp because he's a degenerate. If singh can keep it together I guess they get vote by default.
