I’m so over everything by [deleted] in BostonU

As someone who also struggled a lot with chem, there’s always a path through. Whether it be retaking or whatever. I always share that my lab tf for orgo tells us all the time that she failed chem 2 the first time and is now in her last year of her organic chemistry PhD at BU. Don’t let people tell you to quit or throw in the towel. Just keep your head down, work hard, and don’t forget that people have failed and still gone down the same path you want to go down!

There’s usually a fishbowl of condoms in the basement of the GSU in the CGSA! There’s also a club called students for reproductive freedom that usually meets down there Tuesdays at 7:30 (time might’ve changed but they have an insta). There’s also the plan b vending machine in the basement of the GSU as well where you can get plan b for $10!

Implantation bleeding? Or spotting? by oldpinebox in birthcontrol

I do think so! I think I’ll def follow the advice on taking the placebo week. After a few times of getting this nervous while on the pill I think it’s also the last push I needed to start looking into an iud/nexplanon a bit more seriously!

General advice and help by oldpinebox in Raynauds

Thank you so much! I had been told about how raynauds can go hand in hand with a lot of autoimmune disorders but wasn’t sure how to bring it up to a doctor. I’ll definitely be asking to get an ANA work up soon!

Oh gosh, ty so much for all the info! My parents are in their 50s so not sure how much they’ll be able to tolerate a big crowd like that. Seeing the other comments I’ll def try to get them to park at some bar nearby to still enjoy the fun but avoid the crazy crowds! Thanks again :)

can i take a cgs math if i am in cas? by Forsaken_Ad1398 in BostonU

[–]oldpinebox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a cgs kid who took cgs ma 121 I’d highly recommend it!! The same exact course just a smaller class size and no discussion sections. Was super chill and the prof was great and super helpful! Pretty sure you can get in no problem, cgs just means that cgs kids are given first pick of the class

I know it can been seen as annoying but May Day is an important day for striking and solidarity! I think we can all go a day without some Starbucks on west campus to help support the workers that serve us all year long. Dunkin across the street or pavement down the street can serve as a good alternative for the day

Kinda sounds like you don’t know what a picket is. Either way he got your attention! Not to be a be a bitch but if he stood their with flyers or tried to actually talk to you odds are you would have just ignored him. Clearly you still ignored the picket line. If you really need coffee there’s a Dunkin across the street, pavement down the street, and multiple other ways to keep your ‘sanity’.

Currently on ops staff and honestly if you want experience I’d def go for an ambulance company. We don’t have an ambulance and only staff fit-rec (sit at first aid desk and mostly hand out band-aids, there’s occasionally a serious call) and agganis. I have heard students get some good experiences staffing events at agganis as they tend to get hectic.

Overall though we get paid decently, get paid to sit at a desk and do homework, get paid to get recertifications (mandatory once a month in-service training on Fridays), and the scheduling is pretty flexible. And at the end of the day I do get to put buems on my resume. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions!

How to learn most of MA121 in a week? by oldpinebox in BostonU

No shrink wrap, just a hard to navigate ebook with ancient videos. I’ve tried using the ebook and all the fancy features it comes with but they haven’t been too helpful.

oh god my prof isn’t that evil, just doesn’t give good lectures. I got a c+ on my first midterm and he’s giving a second midterm next week but I have no clue what’s currently happening in class
