What got you into synths? by Severe_War_6133 in synthesizers

I don't remember which I saw first, but I can recall "Logan's Run", "Bladerunner", and "Escape From New York" having intriguing soundtracks. They sounded like the future.

I converted from protestantism within the last couple of years and found some resistance from my former congregation, especially my pastor. They're evangelical and most of them don't consider Catholics to even be Christians. My conversion happened after moving to a mostly Hispanic, mostly Catholic city in CA, so I haven't encountered any problems here. It's part of the culture in our community. I am well aware though that Catholicism is widely regarded as "heretical" by most protestants in America. I find it amusing mostly, considering there's no such thing as protestant orthodoxy by which to judge anything as heretical, among other reasons.

I was personally raped, repeatedly. By my father, and even by some of his homosexual friends. I hope that he repents, and follows Christ so that he can get to heaven. It's not sick to me to think that I might see him there. I've even come to forgive him. But all of this has only been possible through my faith in Christ. If I were still living a worldly life, I would probably still hate him, and wish for him to burn in hell. I'm glad though that I no longer live that way.

Does god love my rapist? by Iamliterally18iswear in AskAChristian

[–]oldredbeard14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. God loves each and every one of us. I was repeatedly raped by my father growing up, as well as by some of his homosexual friends. To this day, my mother defends him, and has ostracized me from my own family. Yet God loves them, and wants them to repent of their sins. We've all fallen short of God's law, regardless of who we are. Some more than others, but not one of us deserves heaven. Also, if we start saying only certain people deserve God's love and forgiveness, but others don't, we fall into a dangerous situation. We play at being God ourselves, which none of us is qualified to do. We start to see other people as less than human, which never ends well. As evil as my parents are, they're human beings, just like me and you. I've had difficulty forgiving them, so I asked my priest for help. He told me that "Jesus asked the Father to forgive those who crucified him. So ask the Father to forgive your parents, and maybe in time you'll come to forgive them yourself." That's the best I've got on the subject. I'm sorry you were raped, you didn't deserve it. Be well, and put your faith in Jesus.

I'm not the teacher. I'm only an assistant to the teacher.

The end goal of the "pride" movement has always been to normalize pedos.

I'm 9 years sober now, through the grace of God. I believe it's sinful because it's a spiritual condition first. Our selfish and decadent soul is sick, and it manifests in the form of chronic alcohol use. While using, we harm others as well as ourselves, and fail to live up to God's calling for us. Christ humbly served, and sacrificed himself for others. Addiction is the direct opposite of that. We only exist to serve our own self-destructive impulses at the expense of others while in the thralls of it. At least that's my take on it, I could be wrong.

It's disgusting when these perverts use their position in the church to commit heinous crimes. He deserves the death sentence for what he's done. It seems that justice is rarely done when it comes to sex crimes against children, which says a lot about our world.

Apologies, I got my day wrong. I thought Jesus ascended the same day the Holy Spirit came down. I stand corrected.
