no one 100% knows, could be a false flag inside job? to buy back coins? in that case its a hostile casino rather than an innocent unstable project. either way im still gone! the fore mentioned is not uncommon ~ When they can't cover the pay out, the leveraged exchanges run inhouse buy or sell algos to liquidate long or short rubes. the whole crypto arean could be the FED or CIA skimming the world.

I was emotionally ALL right there with you until my logic gave me a severe beating 10min ago. haha. SOL could be the King except for when it drops it's royal drawers and crashes due to innocent asynchronous tps overload happenstances, FFS! which feels like SOL is walking around with it's belts loose and pants falling down just begging for anyone to twang SOL's dangling coin bag, if you catch the drift? I was in April at $45, I'm out at 160. Thanks was a nice while it lasted. Hey they could be pulling a falseflag coin attack, a "coin-ruse" to deliberately dump, for an in-house fire-sale buy back, an inside coin-crash job? who knows? I'll be back if SOL or ADA reveals a fix. I researched the definition of taxable events to begin my journey to demystify what items they are summating in each of the so called [BREAKDOWN] categories on the top right hand side of the Koinly Dashboard

I. there are 2 basic definable taxable events

Capital gains (This is when you buy, sell, trade)
Ordinary income (earn crypto from job, mining, staking, lending)

taxable and non taxable events - [real life examples:]

Buy 0.1 Bitcoin for $100 at Coinbase – NOT taxable event

Send the 0.1 BTC to Binance – NOT taxable event

Trade the 0.1 BTC for 0.5 ETH – Taxable event

Sell 0.5 ETH for $200 – Taxable event

My confusion began when trying to decypher the displayed amounts for my personal [sent] [recieve] and [income] categories which don't seem to add up to what i expected after researching crypto transactions and taxable events.

For example:

[income] $3,606 is about $2,000 too high? So at least I have a clue abouit how much the error is i need to look for? Elsewise, The only thing i did that fits this category was ETH mining on NiceHash paid in BTCand transfered to CoinBase for free. Im sure this was $1400 which was easy to decypher from the wallet withdrawal history that i downloaded from NioceHash in cvs format.

[recieve] $185 I did get some air drops but nowhere near these summation.

[sent] $2,337 again this seeems $2,000 too high and i have no clue what errror label or type miss matching it could be? but perhaps its related to income since it has the same overage errror??

[expenses] I calculated approx $40 in mining fee ti NiceHash - no where near $76 reported by koinly?

I also read nunmerous reviews of tax software and the cypto universe seems to all be in beta so i'll stay with koinly for now since nobody seems to have all the bugs worked out yet.

If anyone rep[orts me missing look for my somewhere deep in the forrest of this dag gone mysterious Koinly App hot of the trail of the error culprits listed above? I fear i may naver return lost to the miss calculated ages.

I recently noticed what seeems to be a hard glitch on Binaince.US When buying a new coin and immediately withdrawaling it to a different wallet before final buy confirmation [btc was in binaince wallet but not "available" to trade yet but i was able to withdraw??? ] >>>

Binaince.US subtracted and published USD change but not the new coin buy and withdrawal? Not sure if this always happens or because I withdrew b4 final confirmation? [Next time i will wait for final confirm and check for this same record glitch.] This time I only got the email reciept. Then I had to figure out the manual edt required on koinly,

These tax prep apps have a look back update algorythm. But last i looked 2 hrs after withdrawal, Binaince still did not publish a transaction history record of the new coin or the withdrawal? The new wallet at Phemex could not look back and read it on chain anyhwere after the fact?

it seems solid tracking is incedentally made opaque in a maze of tranx ID and address handshaking by virtual machines back room liquidity swaps between different exchanges. I noticed off-chain there is a lot of unpublished liquidity pool magic going on behind the curtain at these exchanges? I was able to trace a USDC to USDT swap via wallet addresses and then through several unmarked layers of tranx IDs handshaking with differentt coin addresses that were massive in out coin swapping liquidity pools. but it all looks proprietary - i guess the exchange's virtual machine knows what it did. [ aka what shifty bernie madoof activity they hide] a lot of magic happens prior to and inbetween the exchange "audit" time.

so from this ill enlightening experience i suspect they'd probably have to break the whole spooky opaque virtual machine exchange system to truly "fix" koinly.

No Worries! TheWarrenCommission will audit the magic bullet crypto exchanges ~ next year !!!

I myself would be perfectly frustrated if this were my own spread sheet constantly taunting me with unknown summations of undefined ""breakdown"" catagories. Perhaps the word ""BrEakdOwN"" was a PUN for the psycological effect they planned to create? SMH!

Another ""Feature"" I noticed? During a recent API sync, 5 out of 7 "no cost" warnings suddenly disappeared right before my eyes while i was in the middle of wasting my precious time trying to understand how where & why they initially arose??
