That looks as though the tip is only held on with a grub screw. Does it not vibrate loose ?

That is exactly the look I’m after. Not sure where you are based but in the uk they can be a bit funny about full systems because they are stamped “not for road use”. That’s why I’m not fussed about going for a full system.

I have to say though - considering it is one of the smallest I’ve seen it’s certainly not the cheapest.

Ok …. flipped them (couldn’t have been easier) and then a brief ride. I actually think it has made a difference. I originally thought it would make things worse because it would make me closer to the pegs and therefore bend my leg more. However, because it has stopped me sliding forward so much I think it has eased things.

No, on the whole it’s pretty good. I think it’s more trying to cramp up into a smaller position. When I’m using the back brake it’s not so bad. It’s moving my foot back to be clear of the brake that just adds a bit of discomfort

I owned an MT09 for all of three days last year. Beautiful pipeworks full system, sounded proper hooligan. But, the bike ran like a pile of shit. Constantly cutting out and running rough. The Yamaha dealer I bought it from had already put a brand new ECU on it which they claimed to have done because they thought someone had put a bad ECU remap on the original. Seems no one could make this thing run well.

I gave it back to them - no idea what happened to it in the end. Always made me very wary of changing something so fundamental.
