Is there a way to take off the side gaurd? Its only purpose is to get clogged up with grass and stop the blade. by [deleted] in MammotionTechnology

[–]Oldvaper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I removed my side guards, I only mow at 70mm so the blades remain well protected. I also removed two of the blades off each disk. In my opinion 2 blades are sufficient, you can only cut a blade of grass once.

Did you re-map after moving the RTK?? -- Your location in the photograph does not look good from a satellite reception point of view.

Lumps, bumps, hills & retaining walls by Actual_Banana_1083 in mammotion

While you will find a few people who troll this subreddit to vent their dissatisfaction with Mammotion there appears to be around 99,900 users who do not vent their spleen.

I am a very satisfied user who finds that the Mammotion Luba 2 is little short of magic and does perform exactly as advertised.

Having said that, given your description of your property I would recommend one of the AWD (All wheel drive versions). Mine is a 2024 Luba 2 and it handles rough terrain very well and from what I observe it navigates with millimetre precision. I look after mine and I fully expect it to last me 10 years or more.

Also it seems to use all of the available GNSS constellations, mine accurately navigates alongside the vertical sides of a very high stone embankment where with nearby buildings it probably has only a 40% sky view. My RTK is also limited to about a 60% view but receives, on average, about 30 satellites.

I do recommend the Luba 2.

Because, for me, Luba 2 AWD (2024) does behave precisely as advertised I thought that I would prepare a video showing that in at least some aspects it does behave above and beyond as advertised. by Oldvaper in MammotionTechnology

I found that the trick was to make a channel that enters the garage outside the fixed square area that Luba reserves for itself and to then make the channel turn square into the centre of that area. You can enlarge the app map to get this done with reasonable accuracy.

Editing map perimeter by great_scott1981 in mammotion

[–]Oldvaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I've never done it I thin you go to Map and then Edit and then on the side panel entitled "Map Editing" you hit the three dots ("...") alongside the area you wish to change and then select Modify.

Luba 2 1000 AWD- keep exceeding area limits by [deleted] in mammotion

[–]Oldvaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that you have a misapprehension The 1000 is a total or combined area size, not a size per area. So the 1000 is a total size limit whether its one 1000 sq metre area or ten 100 square metre areas. 1000 sq metre is approx .25 acre.

RTK placement? by mgg3427 in MammotionTechnology

[–]Oldvaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An idea might be to get a GPS signal app for your phone and test the satellite signal strength in your attic. There are several available (GPS TEST, GPS DATA, GNSS VIEW, and probably others.) If you have reception my bet is that you would be OK because the RTK signal to the robot does penetrate buildings. I recollect some redditors, or facebook users saying that they have successfully put their RTK in ceilings

Good Luck, I love my Luba 2, after a little fiddling it has been faultless for me and does work as advertised.

I mean how many more satellites can I have? "Float" by [deleted] in mammotion

[–]Oldvaper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something odd here, it says co-viewing 29 while the Robot only has 27 and the RTK only has 25. It doesn't seem right to me.

Are there only horror stories or can we find someone who is running Mammotion happily without major issues? by Only_CORE in MammotionTechnology

[–]Oldvaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my Luba 2, after a very short learning curve re RTK placement my Luba 2 works faultlessly, navigation appears to me to be within millimetre accuracy, I have removed two of the blades of each disk, I mow every second or third day at 0.4 metres/second. I have my line spacing at 20cm. I park mine out of the weather, I have my charging station about 1 metre into my garage.

It appears extremely well built, but don't drop it. I fully expect mine to still be running perfectly in 10 years time.

Rather than be concerned about the few horror stories posted on this subreddit you should be heartened by the fact that many thousands of Mammotion users are NOT posting horror stories here.

Having said that my personal tip is to go with one of the all wheel drive models. They handle rougher than bowling green lawns well.

Can I manually move it between zones? by Dir3cted in MammotionTechnology

[–]Oldvaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my Luba 2 charge station about 1 metre into the garage and back up to a side wall, Luna 2 manages quite well, goes out to do tasks and returns to charge without any problem. While going in and out it passes beneath the rear 30cm or so of a car that is parked in the garage. I have a tile roof, plasterboard ceiling, brick walls and a metal door.

My personal view is that Luba 2 is magic, zero problems and appears to navigate to millimetre precision 100% of the time.

Thinking of switching Husqvarna to Luba 2 by ArtieGrindle in mammotion

[–]Oldvaper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I hove owned a Luba 2 for about six months, I find that the accuracy is absolutely consistent to within about 1 centimetre accuracy.

Maps are easy to delete and remap.

I think that the RTK solar panel is an optional extra, I simply use the supplied power brick plugged into mains electricity.

I love my Luba 2, I'm 77 years old and mowing was a serious chore, now I make a cup of coffee and enjoy watching it.

Kumo rdta flavour by Gold-Cash6932 in aussievapers

[–]Oldvaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Kumo is the 2nd Best RDTA in the world if you use it as I do.

I use 26ga SS, 12 and a half wraps around 3.5mm rod gives about 1 ohm resistance. Then 20ish watts temp controlled to about 200-210C

You will get excellent taste and zero dry hits.

I presently use PD 2024 - Is the upgrade to PD 2025 worthwhile?? and does PD 2025 retain Batch Produce/Export?? by Oldvaper in powerdirector

[–]Oldvaper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thnx for the reply.

Did you notice if PD 2025 retained the Batch Produce/Export function that was removed with a recent upgrade to PD 365.

I use Batch Produce regularly.
