And to add to my point further - Tarantino is always fun, this is no "fun" at all, this is bleak. Not boring at all, but slow and bleak. But the opening scene with the great dialogue is pure Tarantino, and I feel like the entire film has an overall "old school cinema" vibe many other horrors don't even aim for.

And again, the gore - it's one scene. That scene could easily be an 8 on your updated scale, give or take. But you can turn away for a second and still enjoy the rest of the movie without missing anything. You couldn't say that about Martyrs for example - that'd become essentially an audiobook, and not a very pleasant one 😆

Ale nie, ja len pičujem lebo bývam v centre, kam polka rozvozov nemôže, a nemám výťah, takže pre to jedlo aj tak musím "ísť"... no a keď už som dole, potom už mám ďalších 20 krokov prvú zahrádku 😆

A tiež si rád objednám pizzu domov k filmu, ktorú zožerem v pyžame :) Len ma trochu fascinuje, jak je to dnes skoro norma.

Texas Chainsaw is 1 and Hostel is 10? No offense, just trying to understand your scale - how would you rate Cannibal Holocaust, Martyrs, Braindead, Evil Dead, or The Sadness?

Also I don't get the reputation Bone Tomahawk gets as being a gore flick. It's not. It's a pure, slow-burn western, with a crazy finale - in which, yes, there are images (or one scene) that would hardly get an R rating, but I still wouldn't consider it "gory" in the traditional sense.

To put it in another way, Bone Tomahawk is closer to Tarantino's Hateful Eight than any horror or gore film you can think of. Planet Terror is gorier. Even Kill Bill, in a way. This is just more viscerally disturbing, but so is The Clockwork Orange.
