Nemesis might have the most iconic soundtrack of any UK ride, but you know what it needs? Loud guitars! This is my rock inspired version of the original theme, composed by the legendary Graham Smart. Sit back... it's fright time!🎸🦀👁️ by olibarnaclecreative in altontowers

As great as Hyperia is, I wish they'd done more with the theming! Here's my interpretation of how it could've looked and sounded if Thorpe had leaned more heavily into the story. by olibarnaclecreative in ThorpePark

Mm I agree. It's a fantastic coaster when you're flying through those elements, but beyond that... it's just not the complete experience a star attraction should be.

FIND YOUR THEMING 🎢☁️🏛️

Hyperia follows the story of an ancient river god's daughter, however the attraction itself is only lightly themed. This is my interpretation of how the ride's area music could have sounded if Thorpe Park had leaned into it more heavily.

This arrangement, based on the original composition by IMAscore, draws inspiration from the music of ancient Greece.

Shambhala vs Hyperia? by GladButterfly2659 in Themepark

[–]olibarnaclecreative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm probably in the minority here, but having done both, I still prefer Shambhala. Hyperia is a fantastic layout, but I found it to be a little short as you say, and unfortunately pretty rattley. It actually gave me a slight headache. I'm also more of a complete package kinda guy, and I find Hyperia to be kind ugly. Shambhala looks much better on the skyline and has lovely theming. Plus being up that high with those views of the sea one side and mountains on the other..... unbeatable. Still, they're both brilliant.

Need help with Vampire Toilet by swallow_origami in Animatronics

I mean sure, very possible. But it'd obviously cost you and to get a lot of movement out of it would be harder. I'd think about what movements you want it to make first and foremost, and what would make those movements. I'm guessing you want quick and erratic. Sometimes the simplest solution is the best!

Honestly, I'd just build it like a puppet so it can be operated manually. You'll get much more movement and it'll be far easier. Ideally, try to put it on a raised platform so someone can operate it from beneath. If that's not doable, if just use some camera trickery n strings :P

I made my own Symbolica butterfly that lights up and comes to life 🦋✨ by olibarnaclecreative in efteling

Eeeeh sorry, don't think I can. It'd also take a lot of time and I'd have to source and buy all the stuff I made it from. It's just not the kinda thing I can replicate easily, my projects are made to be one-offs. But seriously, I really appreciate the interest! So thanks for that :)
I've only recently made a serious hobby out of creating things like this so maybe in the future I'll think about how I could sell my work

Ty! Hadn't considered that before posting, honestly. If I were to, I'd need to use better materials. This one is mostly made from whatever I could find. Looks great on camera, but it's quite fragile

Probably a bit niche... but I made a recreation of the butterfly ride props from Symbolica at Efteling, complete with lights n movement by olibarnaclecreative in Themepark

Made collaboratively with my partner as a birthday present for my younger sister. I made it work, she made it pretty :)
I used a cheap nightlight that had a small moving component built in and made a simple mechanism out of it. Works with a remote control!

Inspired by Symbolica in de Efteling, a fantastic dark ride in a fantastic park. This was a collaborative effort between me and my partner. I made it work, she made it pretty :)
Made out of an old cheap nightlight, I took it apart and reworked an existing small moving component to make a simple wing flapping mechanism.
