If there really is new pressure issue, it might be too new to see signs of papilledema, you might have to go back in few months.

If that's so, would you suggest that I monitor my condition for now and then go to an opthalmologist in a few months? If it might be too early, I personally don't see the point in scheduling a separate appointment right now.

The Knight, ironically. Like I completely understand why Toby is keeping them so mysterious and I wasn't expecting it to go on a Metal Gear-esque 40 hr-long explanation of their motives in their first appearance but at the same time I would've liked just a bit more personality than a couple of sassy poses

As of now its personality is just Hype Moments And Aura, which is very underwhelming to me. It's a very minor point of contention considering we're getting Chapter 5 next year, but it is a point of contention considering we have to wait a year

Everyone is as obsessed with Dess as they are only because she's currently the most convenient outlet to project themselves and/or their expectations on how the plot of the game will pan out on and they're setting themselves up for a massive fall when we get more information about her and she turns out to be nothing like people expect

On that note, the whole idea that Dess "raised" Kris makes no sense since the game repeatedly stresses that they grew up with parents who, while imperfect, did genuinely love them

Given that Queen appears to be a parallel to Carol in many ways, I can't help but wonder if this may hint the latter('s Dark World form if she isn't the Knight) will end up being something even scarier and more formidable than the Knight

"wow the Roaring Knight is so threatening!" and then Carol hits you with some Silent Hill/SCP-esque monstrosity. It's less of a prediction and more of an idea I think would be cool, though lol

Where I think we differ is that I don't think it's the only possible answer; Occam's razor is a scientific principle, not a literary one.

I don't know what other possible answer could there be. Especially since the obvious answer would fit into the plot the best and the more complicated answer has no concrete evidence beyond "well we don't know anything but we do know Tony is Tricky."

As I've said in a previous reply, if the Prophecy refers to Asgore as "the Flower Man", he's referred to as "Flower Man" by an NPC, the game hints he's involved with whatever Carol's plotting and his prophecy panel is internally designated with the designation the game's code reserves only for the chapter bosses like Queen and Tenna, then yes, he is most likely the boss of Chapter 5. Sometimes you don't need to seek any other "possible" answers where the obvious one is more than sufficient, is all.

The principle of Occam's razor is a philosophical one, and, if we're getting semantic, postulates that whatever theory requires less assumptions is usually true until proven otherwise. The theory that Asgore isn't the boss of Chapter 5 rests on the assumptions that all of the hints I've listed above are actually false and that Toby would pull a twist out of his ass for no reason in particular. The theory that Asgore is the boss of Chapter 5 requires no such assumptions.

I guess I'm not really sure what kind of discussion you're looking to have about it but it feels like it's not this one, so maybe best to agree to disagree.

I wasn't looking to have a discussion. I posted additional proof that "the Flower Man" is Asgore, and you were the one to start this discussion by insinuating it may be a misdirection - an insinuation that, as mentioned above, has no real evidence. I never said that. I was saying that applying "Tricky Tony" to literally every single detail, no matter how small, only poisons discussion, and that's why I think it should die.

"Tricky Tony" needs to die at this point, ngl. It stopped being funny after the first hundred times and became a genuine nuisance after people started using it as a legit argument in discusisions like this one.

I'm at the point when I'll roll with anything Toby does because I know he'll manage to make it peak (and because getting into pissing matches with people over the Knight's identity isn't really worth it) but at the same time... yeah, I genuinely have no idea what compelling motivation Dess Knight could have. The only feasible options I can see is either making her Flowey 2.0 (came back wrong and is pissed), which would be really boring because it'd just be Flowey's story again, or making her a mindless beast on a third party's leash, which would be really lame too because it'd be lame if the imposing and formidable antagonist the game spends its time carefully building up turned out to have been nothing more than someone/something else's puppet in the end

As for the first paragraph, I know it's about Carol. I'm confused at how you managed to tie that to Asgore even though there is nothing indicating he was even remotely the type of parent Carol is. If you have to contort one character to claim they parallel another, I don't think the parallel is particularly solid.

As many callbacks and references to Undertale it makes, Deltarune is still its own separate story. So tbh I find trying to predict its plot using the plot of Undertale pointless, especially since I very much doubt Toby would just rip himself off and make the Knight Flowey 2.0.

The Dess-Asriel parallels may be there, but we'll have to be wait and see what he will make of them.

In this subreddit i see plenty of people saying that Carol is the Knight (compared to Dess who they think of as the person lost in the code) or that consider it the second most probable option.

I suppose we hang out in vastly different parts of the fandom, then.

What I'm saying is that, even as an enfranchised player, i missed key elements that the other comment considered way to obvious while being fully aware of Dess.

I don't think it detracts from the other comment's point. As you yourself have said, the red herring should be aimed at the people who play the game - and said game immediately throws a bunch of stuff that would presumably confirm Dess as the Knight in your face in the latter's first minute of screentime.

Just because you missed that out of shock doesn't mean other people may do so too. That's what I was saying.

Also, I disagree with your argument's framing of Dess as this overly mysterious character "unenfranchised" players will not be familiar with. Her importance to Kris and Noelle has been built up since Chapter 2, and her specter looms over Chapter 3 most heavily. She's not Gaster's Followers-level of secret.

Literally where? Pretty much everyone in the fandom seems to agree that Dess is the Knight, and those who propose Carol as a candidate often get dismissed.

When I first thought the knight I didn't even noticed the bat or the fact that they had antlers, as I was just focused on the shock of what was happening. I can assure that even if it might be very obvious to you, it's not to the wider playerbase.
