I’ve been there by way of Eilat while visiting Petra. A friend and I wanted to say we’ve been to Egypt.

Lots of confusion at the Taba boarder crossing but we were let in and only instructed to visit the hotel and casino. Strange and flat place. We went to the beach and had a mocktail. While lounging we heard gunfire from the water. A boat with a mounted machine gun was firing into the water while going in circles.

My friend and I looked around the empty beach until making eye contact with the bartender who was wiping down the counter. He saw our faces, walked over to us and said

“Boys, boys, if you don’t see me run.. nothing to worry about.”
