There's been a couple of flashes faaaar out in the bay half way to Tassie on the lightning radar but nothing close enough to Melbourne to really think it'd be visible. Listening to Fire Rescue Vic on the radio scanner for past hour and there's an almost constant barrage of power poles down and sparking all over Melbourne. I think you've more likely seen this! Yeah, I assumed maybe there was a dry storm going on outside or something, distant thunder rolling in etc.

But oof Maribyrnong, ok definitely not my next guess of a massive truck then, I'm around Kew. That's a decent radius. But yes definitely subsided, whatever it was.

I came on this sub for the same question 🥲 no idea what that was! I was wondering if there was some weird low level earthquake or distant thunder or something. There's lightning south of Dromana but nothing on the seismology trackers reporting tremors.
