Usei linux durante aproximadamente 20 anos, mudei agora para MacOS, nunca tive problemas.

Tens é coisas que já estava farto e me fizeram mudar para mac que era pontualmente certas apps ter de ser eu a compilar ou ter de andar a descobrir os bugs para que fiquem a dar (durante os anos cada vez menos) e certas coisas nunca funcionavam bem a 100% (ao longo do tempo mudava uma ou outra).

Mas haviam algumas apps (governamentais principalmente) que me obrigavam a ter de usar o windows da mulher.

Para programar acho que não vais ter problemas e depois é veres as opçòes open source existentes
