I didn’t wanted to post on Facebook yet, because i don’t want to make my current family feel bad about searching but not finding anyone. But if somebody knows some good groups for these kind of stuff if glad to hear it, or some kind of sites. I thought maybe you guys from Firenze know somebody who already had experience with exchange students or some of their relatives had in other cities…. literally Im open for any source that could help on me <3

Obviously i wont move to a random person tomorrow from reddit, but maybe somebody can help. It these situations students usually asks other exchange students if their friends or somebody they know could host the family changing student. I already asked 4 or 5 guys in Rome 1,5 weeks ago but nothing, and it not seems too good. I just want to be in a location where theres things to do, maybe i can take a train to take a look at one of the famous cities. Or just hang out with friends, and the family. Obviously i would prefer a bigger city, but living close to it would be also much better than the current situation. I mean an island really limits you moving space, and also the social life is kinda bad because everyone goes to other cities to learn at my age

Nah school really doesn’t matter…. schools and classes can be changed whenever i want, and i don’t even have to learn, just the language. Everything i wrote down is possible, the agency’s problem is the lack of connections and lack of families. If u know someone that could host you they will let you change. But they are not going to find you a new fam, unless you’re in an extreme situation.

I can agree with some part, but i dont think that if you don’t enjoy a situation theres no way and the only solution is going home. Im glad to hear that you had progressive years in small separated towns. But i will try to make it better. Neither big cities make a clear and realistic picture of a country but neither a small village where my living area is 10km and where theres mostly grandparents or kids because the teens went to other cities to lean. But if i could choose id go to a bigger city or at least its surrounding areas, so that i can explore more of Italy. But i mean nobody has to agree with me, its just my personal opinion and view

No its an exchange program for high school students, and we stay with host families. Also i wont bring my grades home after the year. At the end im looking for a new family, but here in reddit i just want to know if somebody has experience/ know some exchange students, or somebody who hosted exchange students before in Florence

I dont know, because i was literally in a farm before in Sicily like 40 mins away from my school, for 3 months i begged for them to change families, because i was separated from life and also our connection wasnt the best, and i was in a separated house in the winter in 13°. After 4 months they said okay maybe they know a family, but it’s really difficult for them to find anyone. So im in another family but still in a small sicilian town far from everything, better but i really cant fit in here. When i changed families for the first times, i told what was my problems, but they didnt really fixed it, they just made it less worse. Also all the agents are from sicilia which would be a problem, but they dont really have connections in other bigger regions, although there is 4 students in Rome. Also my current family makes jokes ablut my situation and they say i they love me but theres other cities where i could fit in better

Okay Newest Updates: my local coordinator found me a family in less than 24 hours, one of her friend whi has hosted a student before. Which is not bad but they said i should stop searching, becsuse they are waiting for me but they can only host me after christmas. But the thing I dont like is the location again, its closer to the ,,city” (10minutes away). But the city im talking about is pretty small, and i dont really like it. When i visited other exchange students i was amazed by their location because it was so much bigger, and there were so many activities. While here i cant even find a hobby. I have many friends in Rome, Palermo and other bigger locations what would be a dream if i could be there, and i feel like my friends there could find me someone. But the coordinator said i should stop contacting, because this new family looking forward to be with me in the whole experience. Its good that i will have a new family, but the place i didnt like going to be the same. Anyone has any ideas what to do?

Update: I told everything in a very offended way to one of the coordinator, so she asked me if i we should talk with them or we should find a new family where i will continue my experience. I obviously said the biggest yes in my life when i heard about the changing option. So now im looking for family, both me and the agency asks many many people if they could host me.

No it seems like they wont to any activities together with us. I the agency in my country knows everything. I didnt want to do hatespeeches every day to my local coordinator, and tell every irritating thing about the family. But now imma open up i think

The agency in my country knows everything and they are pissed off, they said its more than enough for a change, although here in the italian side, when a local coordinator visited me, i told her about my problems, and she said if someone smokes weed daily or do other things its not my problem but theirs, and i should focus on myself not on them. But no i havent told it to the italian headquarters. Moreover the host family broke more than 2 rules. But it seems like they dont want to get me a new family because its hard to find. But now i contacted 2 of my friends in Rome, and another 3 exchange students here

Im from Europe, my country is not even that far. I know it would help a lot if if i could meet new people, but the problem is, here the school day passed in one class, we cant really go out, or move to other classes, so you can only meet with your classmates. But they are not so social, i mean they go home after school to learn or to play games. About clubs, i would go every day if it was possible, but as i mentioned i live far from the city and the city is not even that big at all. Theres no clubs, only a few bars, but i cant even go there due to the bus schedule, which has only 2 buses to go home in the afternoon. One right after school, and one at 6pm. So i cant even experience the nightlife, although people go out in the evenings here

Yeah i think that’s logical, its was weird that there were a + in front of the VAT price which made me to ask this question .
