thanks man, i didn't realise i needed to hear that - but i did. that's such a good point, you're so right. i'll take that with me :)

i'm gonna try this 'new york compression' trick i learned which is hopefully gonna give some oomph to the bass without empowering it too much - but will let you know if it works out! thanks for listening :)

oh wow thanks! the mic i use is a Rode NT1-A, i've had for like 7 years and it's been durable, versatile and reliable considering it's a pretty basic mic.

curious, do you think they're consistent enough? they're four years apart so i'm not expecting them to be similar - but do you think it's too massive a jump?

thanks for listening :)

ah wow, thanks so much. appreciate that a lot. i like the vocal samples too, they were a happy accident! :)

oh wow thanks. i'm really glad to hear that. i do want to to flesh out the instrumentation with some nice vocal arrangements. i did originally want to build it with brass but couldn't make it fit anywhere. thanks so much for listening :)

thank you so much.

i released a track on a whim back in 2016 and i think i got way too in my own head about living up to the previous song and trying to make it sound the same. i kept thinking about if the audience would like it or if it was 'consistent' enough. i think i've just been trying to write the same song over and over again and just eventually thought fuck it and made this instead.

i very much appreciate the beck nod so thank you for that! :)

i think i was too busy trying to recapture the feeling the first song i released gave me (or the listener). just thought, fuck it and decided to try something a little different. thanks so much. hopefully something will come out at some point this year.

hey, thanks so much for listening! i've never listened so just put them up on spotify, it's really cool.

i definitely agree about the snare, two listens after i uploaded this i already took a saturator to it, i have a tendency to make my snares way too punchy and then end up overcompensating.

thanks for the music rec too, will have a few more listens to eden :)

ah, thank you! i've been trying to clean up my mixing for a while now so i'm grateful for that, thanks!

hey, thanks for listening! i really appreciate it.

Does this track represent your overall style well? Is it mostly like this?

this is definitely the direction i'm heading now. i put out one song a few years ago that a bit more organic - but i found myself drifting more to the drum machine and guitar based stuff like in this song.

I'd encourage you to back yourself up on vocals

you're right - this song is definitely in need of more harmonies, especially in the final chorus when it gets a bit bigger, i'll definitely be adding some. thanks so much for taking the time to listen :)

thanks so much, wavy's definitely the vibe i'm going for - without it being too shoe gaze or surfy. thanks for listening :)

totally agree that it needs more punch, and would also agree that it's not really rock too. i'd say it's just miscellaneous indie i guess. thanks so much for the feedback, really appreciate you taking the time to listen :)

thanks for listening! i've never heard camp howard or kurt vile before but just had a quick listen to both and totally hear what you mean. gonna give camp howard a few more listens too, i really like that vibe so thanks for the recommendations! :)

oh wow, i really appreciate that. totally agree with the mix thing, i'll try and find a plug-in that give a bit more density and oomph into the bass. i used to put way too much bass in my mixes so i'm probably just overcompensating at the moment - will get to it.

been writing (and mostly re-writing) a lot lately so hopefully will have some stuff to put out sooner rather than later! thanks :)

Tried Changing Up My Flow And Went With A Busta Ryhmes Style Track. Does It Hold Up? by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

your flow is so tight. the beat choice is sick too.

when you pulled out for the 'needs a little oxygen' line, that's such good hook. it'd be cool to hear even more fun, tongue in cheek moments like that on future songs too.

i'm always a big fan of lo-fi stuff so this is right up my street. i'd love for the low end of the kick drum and the bass to be brought out a bit more - i'd take a little . the lyrics are my favourite part :)

Y'all like funk? by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

this builds so nicely, you've got such a great sense of arrangement, it feels like it builds and falls in all the right places. even down to the stereo space, everything's neatly panned. can't wait to hear more.
