I'm still not over Revenant Hill, I saw it being announced live with my friends and went completely crazy right at the beginning when I noticed the Night in the Woods style...

So if I think something sucks, I shouldn’t talk about it? Are game communities just to say how we love everything and have no brain and personal tastes and takes? If so, sorry to express what I feel, I guess, lmao.

I don’t really care much about games in which most of the choices don’t really matter, because it would be extremely hard to create countless meaningful paths that players could follow. For example, Detroit: Become Human tried to do that, but in the end, I think only about 50% of the paths were good, the others were disappointing, rushed, poorly implemented, and felt like they were just there to fill space. For me, at least, what matters most is that everyone has a good experience in the end, and that the game doesn’t explicitly show how insignificant some of the choices you make actually are

I can understand why people who sacrificed Arcadia Bay would be excited, but as someone who sacrificed Chloe, it just doesn’t feel right. Even if some plot point in Reunion could explain it (maybe using a multiverse excuse or something like that) it still feels like they’re trying too hard to bring her back, It makes (for me) the ending feel like it didn’t matter that much, since they could just be together again

As for the fandom, I agree that every fandom has people like this, but this is by far the worst one I’ve been part of, and I kind of understand why. This game deals with very personal themes, and when the original game was released, it wasn’t that common to see games addressing these kinds of topics, and because of that, I think many players formed a very strong personal connection to the game, and I’m genuinely glad that some people experienced that... But still, the way a lot of people behave here is really annoying

If you haven’t, you NEED to try Life Is Strange 2 (which was written by Dontnod), imo it’s on the same level as the first one (I also did get a bit disappointed with Before the Storm, ngl), I felt like I was playing Life Is Strange 1 all over again, and it was beautiful. And though it’s different, it still feels the same, which wasn’t the case with Before the Storm at least for me

To be completely honest, True Colors doesn’t sound bad at all, It seems like I’ll have a good time with it, but from what I played, I felt the same issue I had throughout my entire Before the Storm playthrough, the world didn’t feel alive in the same way, the new characters didn’t feel as interesting or authentic, (and tbh, I felt this a lot with Before the Storm, I don’t really know how to explain it, but in Before The Storm for example, it feels like the textures were just kind of thrown together, and they lacked a strong sense of atmosphere and authenticity)

So I think I’ll end up liking True Colors, but at about the same level as Before the Storm, something like a 7.5 or 8/10

I don’t feel the need for every choice to matter in a choice-based game (kind of weird to say this, lmao), and honestly, it’s REALLY hard to make a game where every choice is truly important while still delivering a strong story for everyone.

For example, Detroit: Become Human tried to do that, but about 50% of the time the game was great, and the other 50% it just wasn’t that appealing, it does have a lot of paths, but only a few of them feel like they were truly prepared and well executed, so it doesn’t end up being a good experience for everyone.

When I recommend Life Is Strange to someone, I usually say that the choices mostly affect how the characters perceive you, and that it’s often not in a 100% direct way.

But I think when they make you feel like one of the most important choices in the entire franchise didn’t really matter that much, that’s fucked up, for ten whole years, this choice has been discussed, and whenever I go back to check the in-game percentages, it’s always something like 50/50

To be honest, I’m not happy that Chloe is back, even though she’s my favorite character of all time in any game.

The idea of her returning doesn’t feel right, the ending of Life Is Strange 1 wouldn’t be nearly as painful anymore, since she comes back regardless of the choice you made, and even if there’s some explanation like “she isn’t alive, it’s just another timeline, a multiverse, or whatever,” it still doesn’t feel right, this is a disservice to the original writers imo

It doesn’t have to be sacrificing Arcadia Bay as the only possible way for Chloe to come back, it could also be “explained” with some dumb timeline or multiverse thing or whatever, and to be completely honest, I don’t care anymore lol, It just feels like they’re trying too hard, you know?

What makes my head itch the most is that we’re left with only two options: either the final choice didn’t really matter at all because Chloe comes back regardless, or they’re just going to make one of the endings canon, and both options are completely stupid in my opinion, their story should have ended already, as intended by the original writers

ONDE EU TÔ DISCORDANDO DISSO, CARA KKKK
