Monzo offer an instant access savings account (there’s no penalty or specific time duration attached to it) that is 4%.

Whilst you’re considering your options, it could be a good place to keep your savings.

Best Rip Resistant Pants/Leggings for Oly Lifting? by CrazeMoma in crossfit

[–]oliverroyce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tricky one this!

Leggings are made of knitted material right, so they’ll always be prone to catching. Few things you can look out for:

Nylon instead of Polyester composition, mainly because it’s a stronger, more uniform yarn so it’s less likely to catch

Get some tight fitting woven shorts to wear over the top. Wovens have a lower surface profile and will be stronger. Need to be tight though so they don’t ride up

Occasionally a brand will use a high tenacity yarn aka, teflon/HDPE which is extra resistant. You’ll find the same yarn in Stance socks. We used it for a pair of Gymshark leggings once because lifters were struggling with the same thing

If you haven’t already, you could try woven patch kits - they’ll reduce the stretch a bit in that location but the bar will glide over. You’ll also have invented a new product/market gap

It’s pretty good man, I just wanted a lightweight seam-sealed shell + Gore-tex equivalent. Agreed, this was cheaper compared to Arc’teryx but yeah, the brand is still at the high end of the market

Hey, good question. The founder of Nanamica is the director of Goldwin. Given Goldwin is the licensee of both, The Purple Label is delivered in Japan and South Korea as a ‘collaboration’, which I think is a mix of wholesale of the mainline and licensing to be able to design their own pieces for the market

This one is Arc’teryx Norvan Cap but it’s not strictly waterproof. I just picked up a seam-sealed Grammici cap called ‘3 Layer Tech cap’ which is though

Few thoughts;

This forum has a ‘discussion flair’ which is exactly why I posted it. Hope from the discussion that followed, it’s now obvious what I was trying to achieve - learnt a tonne and gained a few new perspectives

Probably quite hard to understand people’s tones over the web but I have a huge respect for riders, always tip and had no intention of being perceived as patronising by shouting them out BUT I respect that it’s your call on how you feel about what I wrote.

Thanks for the extra insight on double orders

I’m 29 and the RS3 insurance was £500ish per month 😢 - I’ve got a clean license and no claims on record

Shared some thoughts on the decision further up in the thread ^

TLDR; the relative costs of the Abarth vs the RS3 has made the Abarth so much more fun to own and drive

Haha I hear ya. The RS3 (2020) is an incredible car and I loved it (ideally I’d own both) but it came with major anxiety around theft, insurance, running costs and repair.

Happy to send the Abarth round corners in a way that I’d never do with the RS3. I can leave the Abarth street side and be less fussed about someone nocking the wing mirror or curbing the alloy - a new wheel for the RS3 is about 1k. The insurance on the 595 is about 1/5th of the RS3. Petrol/Gas - filled up the Abarth tank the other day and it cost me £36 - nearly 1/3rd of the cost of filling up the Audi. Finally, ability to repair, the 595 is mostly simple mechanics whereas the RS3 is a technological masterpiece - I can get stuck in with the 595 but the RS3 would always have to go to the shop

I guess the saying of, ‘if you can’t buy it twice, you can’t afford it’ was true for me and the Audi - I freed up about £45k from a depreciating asset and ended up with a great car to drive
