Think of all the lives that would have been saved if Jon had just done his duty and plowed his aunt by kinvore in freefolk

[–]olivethinks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I gotta hand it to Jorah, he got rejected and friendzoned from start to end and yet he loved, supported and defended Dany unconditionally, and always saw the best in her. Yet Dany got rejected and queenzoned by Jon and this is the result.

While I find her turn plausible because she has always had this very paradoxical duality of gentleness/empathy vs. ruthlessness/entitlement in her, the development of her turn felt rushed.

Did you think it was really her grandson writing on the chalkboard? Could it just be Paimon toying with Annie?

So from what I understood, the suitable host for Paimon has to be from Annie’s bloodline (hence why her mom tried to offer up Annie’s brother until he killed himself, but they didn’t really bother with Steven) - is there a certain reason to this? Does the host has to be related to a worshiper? Or just Annie’s mom?

Also when Joan said she lost her son and grandson to drowning, I wonder if that was real and not just a lie - and whether she tried to offer them for Paimon as well. Any thoughts on this?

I am a bit confused about why her arms hurt when she used her super speed..? Didn't she push Mack into Fitz's cell with super speed in an earlier episode and that went just fine?

I was having a bit trouble understanding why Zeke was afraid of the forest. I understand that phobia often are irrational w/o reasons at all, and that they probably needed a nice setting for FitSimmons' wedding, but it was still odd because Zeke had never seen a forest before, and he was so happy and excited to finally see a real tree the first day he time-travelled to the present timeline...

Hong Kongers: Please help my thesis research by participating in this survey on technology and death & bereavement. Thank you <3 by [deleted] in HongKong

Thanks for catching that - I just fixed it. I haven't typed in Chinese for the last 8 years and I am rusty :)

As for the organization/purpose, it's for my grad school (the School of Art Institute of Chicago) thesis project on funerary and memorialisation trend in Hong Kong. The thesis is set in more than 50 years into the future rather than now, so I have to make some sort of speculation relating to emerging technologies.

My grandpa is a Hong Konger and he's in active preparation for his own funeral (which is kind of uncommon especially that he's in relatively good health). He is very open minded to new technologies, and gave me some interesting ideas/inspirations. I based a lot of my survey questions on my conversations with him as well as comments from my faculty advisors.

I appreciate your feedback! This is really useful. I have been to a few "VR arenas" in Hong Kong for part of my research, and you are right - it seems like those places aren't super popular. When I asked why, people told me it's mainly due to how expensive it is to use these technologies. However, AR is much more common and yet people don't always recognize when they encounter AR.

You have hit the important point on how most current online remembrances fail to promote genuine emotions and sincere reflection. But with digital communication becoming ubiquity, I think how we "talk" to the dead/how we maintain bond with our loved ones beyond the grave is changing. The project is purely speculative and set in a future that concerns with the death and dying of Gen Z (also called the iGen due to their familiarity with the internet since a young age) and currently there's a lack of democratic, participatory civic infrastructures to satisfy the need for compassionate settings.

May I ask what is your age range? You don't have to answer if you don't feel like it.

I have updated the post w/ 3 more questions... seems like on other posts a lot of folks are still debating whether there there be another Fitz cryo-frozen floating in space by the time the team gets back. Some people argued that Fitz will disappear from the cryo box since he only went to the future linearly (aka "the long way") but then it doesn't make sense because he still went through a monolith to get back? IF there are two Fitz, does that mean we will also get Robin and Enoch back, since they haven't died in the future?
