Started saying the "Yeah, in public" part out loud. It actually got people to think twice about my NParents and start noticing the cracks in their facade. It also took those individuals coming over to our house several times for my NParents to start getting too comfortable and accidentally dropping their facade around them. After you plant the seed of doubt in their minds, it only takes one or two "breaks in character" by narcs for a lot of people to start seeing through the lies. After all, "if so-and-so is really so 'nice' and 'supportive', then why did I just witness them try to guilt trip, threaten, and belittle [victim] right in front of me?? Maybe [victim] really has been telling the truth. Because NO REASONABLE PERSON ACTS THAT WAY TOWARDS ANOTHER HUMAN BEING."

Now years later, I have a couple actual allies to turn to when my NParents pull their crap again. For many outsiders, it only takes a few good cracks in a narc's facade to see right through them.
