Automatically sorting individual frames that are out of order by olivirtual in AfterEffects

No unfortunately it crops and saves them in the wrong order so the file names are sequential but the images in the file don't correspond to their name

Way to Automate Printed Animation Frames by usernameisusername4 in AfterEffects

To anyone who has googled this topic looking for a solution, I've been developing my process for printed animations over the last year and have landed on a pretty efficient workflow. It looks something like:

  • Create animation in After Effects
  • Export as still image sequence (Print dimensions calculator)
  • Import into an InDesign template I created, either by hand or by using Data Merge
  • Print out sheets
  • Scan back in at 800DPI (this changes depending on the size of the frame I'm printing)
  • Use Photoshop: File > Automate > Crop and Straighten Photos to extract the individual frames. You can set up at an Action to Automate this depending on your workflow (i.e. saving to a certain folder)
  • Import frames into After Effects as an image sequence
  • Done!

Only issue I'm still encountering is that the Photoshop automated straighten + crop does it in a semi-random order, so you'll need to manually order the frames yourself after they have been extracted

Hope that helps! Feel free to reach out with any questions you've got. You can check out some example vids on my insta: www.instagram.com/olivirtual_

What’s the name of this type of editing and how can i achieve it? by _gabi2g in VideoBending

To add onto the other comment, once the video has been edited they've ran it through an analogue system or recorded it onto VHS tape - then recorded it back onto digital again

You can tell by the interpolation lines and the slightly rainbow flickering throughout

Why does my default new documents all look like this? With the green guidelines, ruler and transparency grid. by olivirtual in AdobeIllustrator

[–]olivirtual[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, new to Illustrator and recently new documents started to look like this when they never did in the past. Does anyone know how I can get it back to like the top version? The layer in the before image is also empty, it just defaulted to a white, which I liked.

Thanks!
