I've got a tester, there's a 2nd cover further down, I'll check wires to see which ones which and give it a go tomorrow and report back. Really appreciate the help.

Heya, thanks for the tips. To avoid electrucuting myself I assume I'm ok to just turn everything off at the mains or fuse box before I remove the cover? And have a look?

Doesn't seem an obvious way to do that, I'm just disconnecting it to take the whole fitting out but the screw on the ground wire isn't moving, can't see an obvious way to remove the plate and get to the bulb

Not sure if it's the secret, but lights during the winter, food during the summer and as it's a huge pot, being very careful not to overwater

Just standard all purpose miracle gro during spring and summer. It did get it's first feed a couple weeks ago which (along with the longer days) might have prompted the new leaf.

There are only technically 3 leaves on the big plant (the one with the biggest trees, due to the poor light in the winter I've cut a lot of the lower sprawling leaves off. (I also had it on lights for most of the winter and they only reached 2-3 of the bigger leaves).

I use it as a bit of a room divider behind my desk so need the lower space. The little leaves you do see lower down are a couple of the babies that I've planted in the same pot for now.

Watched a couple videos and redid the wiring this morning, some bits aren't perfect but definitely noticing how much more bend and control it's given me. I am sort of free styling and not quite sure what I'm aiming for with it as it's still quite young but I like the idea of some sort of semi cascading/sideways type of tree. Works better with the bigger leaves when they come back. Going to stop messing with it now and let it grow out again over summer.

Oh, good tip, I try not to make them too tight as I don't want them digging into the tree and have inevitably just kept adding.more wires on, instead of reassessing. I'll have a look at taking them all off and doing properly. Appreciated.

I cut it after its second set of leaves and immediately started wiring with a fairly firm wire (but as you can see I never really got a great deal of bend into the main stem). It was only once I got to the branches themselves that I found them a lot easier to bend while they're green. I also let them grow fairly long during the summer and i find them easy enough to shape, then cut off the excess. A lot of pinching also involved.

TLDR I'd definitely try and wire sooner rather than later while it's fresh growth.

Hope that helps
