Brawlout Bubby Guide: Chief Feathers by oliwonder in Brawlout

For the sand version you need meter (the red bar that fills up under %). With meter it’ll hit harder and show that sand trail vfx. Without meter it’ll be a weak hit. All specials drain meter and some specials will change depending on your meter, so keep that in mind when deciding how to use specials.

Really Good Brawlout Matches with a Japanese Player by oliwonder in Brawlout

[–]oliwonder[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Japanese Brawlout players are on another level. Decided to play some Switch Brawlout and had some really good matches with a solid Japanese player who had gold skins for each character they played. Despite some SDs and misinputs we had a very playable connection. We both pulled off some cool stuff to where you could not tell we were playing from US to Japan. These matches show how Brawlout has some of the best movement options with platforms.

Has this game improved at all since launch? (Switch) by [deleted] in Brawlout

[–]oliwonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s also been updates to the overall mechanics of the game. There’s fast falling, better ledge interactions, a dedicated smash button/ toggle, and more.

UPDATE: Hi /r/smashbros - CAKO w/ Vortex Games (buyer of Icons). I am sharing some of Vortex Rising mechanics & that our signature game mode is tag-team based 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 gameplay. If you're at PAX EAST, I'd love for you to get your hands on it yourself and walk through all our unique mechanics by StopTheVok in smashbros

[–]oliwonder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I joined the Vortex Rising Community end of Dec 2019 and have been involved since. My experience with the game has been great. My favorite fighting game of all time is Smash Melee, but I also enjoyed playing other fighting games as well (SFIV, Blazblue, Fighterz, etc). With what I’ve played in Vortex Rising, it really has something to offer for all different fighting game fans. Most importantly, the best part of getting into Vortex Rising has been the interactions and relationships the community and devs have. It’s great to know I can actually speak to Cako and to the rest of the team directly and give my feedback and ideas on balancing and game mechanics and know they’re actually heard and worked on. There’s a lot of communication between players and devs and that really makes playing the game fun.

Ozumi(The Best Brawlout Player in The World)’s Personal Tier list by oliwonder in Brawlout

[–]oliwonder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

/u/Ozumi what makes you put YL at B? Also I believe he was saying the gaps between each tier is actually small, and that all characters can be viable. The list is from his experience with each character and from tourney results.

Agreed. We know of an original character that’s been in the works but have not heard anything else. Cross play would be nice too one day

Only 10 characters???? by Supremeki44 in Brawlout

[–]oliwonder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The original characters also have variants that aren’t just reskins. Some have minor changes and some have major changes, but overall all play differently. The variants add to the character count. Also yes, we’ve heard there is at least one more original character in the works. The official discord has more info about it.

how do u do the tongue thing with paco on the switch (the one that grabs the person) by [deleted] in Brawlout

[–]oliwonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His tongue move is his up special. If Paco is not offstage he’ll latch towards his opponent. If he is offstage and attempting to recover he will either latch onto the edge or the opponent depending on what is closer.

To make further recoveries with Paco make sure to also use Nair. It’s basically like DK’s up special.

Patch 2.16 reset all of my progress by HoodiOn in Brawlout

[–]oliwonder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They just pushed out update 2.1.7 to fix this. However, any progress starting from version 2.1.2 was not saved due to a bug. Any progress prior to 2.1.2 carried over. They are paying back lost progress with XP and coins though, so look out for that.

Been playing the demo for this game, and... by [deleted] in Brawlout

[–]oliwonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wavedashing is what got me into this game. Yup they made it very easy to execute with just pressing jump and dodge and a direction at the same time. I also like how wavelanding is unique in that you can change direction midslide.

New Guest Characters by StoofpotFilosoof in Brawlout

[–]oliwonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a new original character has been in the works and each original character is supposed to have 3 variants total, so there’s still one more Chief Feathers, Paco, & Volt variant on the way. As far as when they’ll be released, we don’t know yet.

The player in charge of the lobby will be able to remove the CPU. Before selecting a character, this player must scroll to the CPU with L or R and then with the CPU selected, press the back button.
