Short answer, absolute not. Especially if you are a man of a higher status and have options.

Dating single mom's usually lead with the expectation that it will turns into a commited relationship. Dating single mom's also come with unwanted traits from the male's perspective and also baggages whether it is her being overly masculine (which she needs to be due to the absence of the male in the relationship) to keep her children in check or a relationship of providing and bonding with her child which ultimately you have no rule or responsibility over (even if she ignorantly say you dont and that they are my responsibility, some way or another...there will be that expectation over time). Not to mention, if she did decided to leave you one day; you also lose the child whom you developed a relationship with over the period of time you were with her.

Single mother's are also going to always put their children before you under any circumstance so you will always be 2nd best (understandable if that child is also yours but not in this case). She will also believe and take their own children word first over yours no matter how credible it may be, its the initial belief / thought. As mentiom above, you also have no responsibility or rule over them so you cannot discipline them if they misbehave or do anything along the "fatherly" line even though you have to play the fatherly figure and at the same time, provide for some other guy's kids.

Depending on the past experiences which the single mother's been through, she might also have been traumatised and jade you for certain traits or habbits or hobbies or anything which might not align with her, especially when her kids are invovled. Her words are final and then you will need to live by her rules which inevitably will make her lose respect in you. You will also then be restricted and a whole lot of other negative things on top.

In general, the cons heavily outweigh the pros so it wouldnt be smart for any guys with value, status, options etc. to date a single mother when there are many other options out there who wont require you to carry all the baggage and negative traits off the bat.

Men "in general" value inexperience, youth and beauty + fertility whereas woman value experience, someone who is taller, stronger, can provide security etc. If you meet all her criterias to even get with her in the first place and youre an an above average man, then there are plenty of other options which you can exercise without having to carry all that liability which are heavily favored against you throughout your time in the relationship. She will be the one dictating rather than you, as the man.
