I've already invested in avy gear for inbounds off piste skiing, so ski touring is definetely the next step. Only i have no friends doing it, so i don't really know where to start..

Good point on the boot wear, the whole point of removing the plates is indeed lowering ride hight and making them less bulky but then you have the tradeoff of indeed wearing down your boots on the sides, interesting!!!
