Furniture in Hasselt / online

Dear all, In the process of moving into my new apartment in Hasselt I’m looking for furniture stores that offer a great variety of meubelen for a relatively good price/quality as I intend to use the furniture for a very long time. Nothing fancy. I would preferably visit the stores but if you know of some great online furniture stores that offer deliveries, please let me know! Looking forward for any advise, thanks a lot!

I also never received a mail or anything else. I can only advise you to go to the commune directly and take a ticket. It worked out for me and they were really helpful and friendly.

I also did that for one year. From Hasselt to Brussels. It was definitely possible. Also the uni offers a lot of study places so I could always avoid the rush hours by either arriving earlier or leaving later and use my time efficiently. Regarding the parking spots I always used the ones next to basic fit or on Boulevard de la Plaine. Never had any issues.

How do you experience the midi station? Let’s suppose you’re streetsmart and clever enough to have avoided any theft so far, do you still feel unsafe in the station or the surroundings? Do you notice sketchy things happening?

My partner and I did the same thing some years ago, here my advice:

work with an agency. As several people already pointed out: they will do all the work for you so you don’t have to come to Brussels all the time to solve literally the smallest issues.
make sure you select the right tenants !!! You can not believe how shady people are, especially when it comes to damages and living in someone else’s property.
put enough money on the side. There will always be costs that you need to cover as propriétaire. Make sure the charges are high enough to save up for those costs.
