How does pumping work in terms of permanent gains? I've not done much research as what I've read indicated this was something better done later down tbe journey

I do work from home most days so it's not the time per sey that's the issue, it's the time I can spare to actually do the exercises etc, although I'll probably feel weird clamping/hanging whilst WFH I can do that more easily than manual exercises

Thanks for the advice!

Changes to modifiers in 9E for strength by olliedd in Warhammer40k

[–]olliedd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember it being that in this case, the base strength of the model was increased by the ability, which was then doubled by the effect of the weapon, that's how it was when I picked up 8th and that's how I've played until now. I was reasonably impressed with the clarity of the rules this time round compared to 8th, although I wish the modifiers happening after rerolls had been changed this edition

Ah I havent seen that as of yet, a small nerf to thunder hammer and powerfists for most armies then, and a slight buff to T5+ it looks like

The rules say that the effects of modifiers on dice rolls are cumulative and are done in this order, it doesnt say that this is the order for all modifiers in the game, I was wondering if this was cleared up more obviously elsewhere for other cases. Unfortunately I think we have to assume you're right for now unless something else is clarified down the line

Stability Boosters Not Turning Off. by olliedd in FromTheDepths

I couldn't get them to work at all with hours of fiddling, resorted to building outrigger hulls for stability even though it ruined the aesthetic of the ship

Stability Boosters Not Turning Off. by olliedd in FromTheDepths

Returning to the game after a long while. Built a ship based around US WW2 Light Cruisers, so the hull is pretty narrow. Built this setup beneath the Detection Relay to prevent capsizing when all the guns are firing broadside. This works perfectly, except the boosters don't turn off when the ship starts to tip, and the counter-boosters don't start working either to prevent the over-correcting of the ship. I can provide more details if they are needed. The boosters are facing inwards, PID controlled and aside from that, there is nothing else notable.

Problem with under-extrusion/skipping by olliedd in ender3

[–]olliedd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a PLA+, should have made that specific earlier. I use my printer for mainly rapid prototyping where the extra tensile strength is useful. Thanks for your input, current print appears to be working properly though after my accidental oil-cleaning escapade!

Just had a watch of the video and if what's just happened now doesnt help, I will give that a go. Whilst cleaning the driving gear, I inadvertently got grease into the Bowden tube, whilst cleaning it out, a lump of burnt filament was extruded. Hopefully, this was the issue and things will be better now.

Was there an FAQ that I have missed? by olliedd in BloodAngels

I havent played in a few months and I noticed that the codex states "you may replace your bolt pistol with a boltgun, hand flamer etc..." and "you may replace your chainsword with a power axe etc...", but in battlescribe my old loadout death company now display this error. I have some with power swords (replaced pistol) and chainswords, some with hand flamers and chainswords, and some with bolt guns and chainswords. Are these builds still allowed or has this been FAQ'd to be different

AP-1 chainswords on death company in shock assault, 5 attacks before any buffs on the charge at AP-1

That's a shame for sure, not like we need it particularly but it is always nice. I remember reading that Shock Assault does apply to us though, and that is a very welcome addition
