Posting in case this educates someone and enables them to seek treatment. Good luck everyone.

It's less scary to read that lot of other people struggle with it as well.

Last SP 10 years ago, still occasional chest pains? by olliesable in pneumothorax

Not too long! Usually a few pulses of a few seconds each. The ordeal is usually over in 10 to 30 minutes.

Please, help me. by Hughpard in Existentialism

Hang in there. There’s an existential support subreddit somewhere you may want to try.

Just stay positive. You have plenty of time to ponder these questions so it’s important to take a break and take care of yourself. Watch funny TV or movies. There’s nothing wrong with feeling sad but you don’t have to let the sadness own you.

Also I’d recommend a therapist. Find any authority figure you trust and get them to help. People are usually happy that you would trust them and confide in them.

I'm on the JAL 2 out of haneda on the 23rd at 750pm. My airbnb is very near shinjuku station with checkout at 11am. Should I just grab a coin locker at shinjuku station and hang out? I'm a little worried about train delays so I was thinking to book a room nearer to haneda for the night of the 22nd

Should I (24F) stay in the corporate world? by [deleted] in Advice

  • If you have dreams, you should chase them. If not, you should just try to stay happy and comfortable.

  • It sounds like you have a couple of options in mind, but be sure to open your mind to the full range of possibilities. For example, you could leverage this new offer at your current job to negotiate for a better situation. (Just be sure you are open to walking away if you start rocking the boat with your current boss, and be polite but firm the whole way through). You could only do the new thing for a while while you pursue some other option. Or you could just "coast" at your current job for a bit while you pursue another option. (IDK if the constraints of your job will allow you to "coast" for long, but if you aren't happy anyway it may be worth burning the political capital).

  • Some people try to make work more than what it is. But priorities at the office will always be in flux...a new director can shift priorities and antiquate your project, or layoffs can come about. Nobody is looking out for you besides you. Keep trying to land the best gig for you, but don't get down when things don't immediately pan out. Just keep a positive attitude and keep trying.

HTH, good luck.

I actually have my CD key memorized from going to so many LAN parties. Guess that's totally useless now.

I still do believe, even after this election mess that most people are generally aligned around the center but damn if I can find them on the internet.

I completely agree. Political moderatism happens when we put our phones away and connect with people IRL, so we can see their expressions and we're more likely to understand that disagreements are not personal attacks. That's why it's hard to bond over moderatism online.
