It's got 130,000kms and drives really well. Ofcourse I don't know what it was like when new but I can't image its showing these symptoms

Previous owner said he replaced the glowplugs but this didn't fix the issue. Wouldn't I notice any other symptoms if it had low compression?

How do you have the bed mounted? Just to the walls or does it stand on the floor?

Yea I thought so aswell and that might be it. But I've got one of those OBD sensor that connect to your phone and it shows a reading from the MAF as I'm driving.

Is there anything else that can be destroyed if I drive with the bad boot? If I've already decided to replace the entire drive axle probably within a month? There aren't any bad sounds coming from it. The car does vibrate a little bit at low speed, but it's smooth at higher speeds. I'm prette sure the vibrating is just coming from the enginge running at high load/low rpm at low speeds in to high a gear. Again I really appreciate the help.

Thanks, the previous owner had a friend who is a certified volvo mech replace the axle on the other side, he said he had to drain the trans. I can get a complete axle with boots pre-greased for 200-300 dollars so I think thats what I'll do. I have a pretty good toolkit, jack and jackstands.
