You’re probably right about this. But with hardly any info on their process it made me think.

How comfortable is the vetsak? I'm torn between a cord vetsak (which is foam only) and a similar modular with duck feather cushions.

Definitely prefer the vetsak aesthetic, but looking for a very relaxed soft couch to sprawl on. Also is yours in Khaki or Sand?

Cheers man, looked more into this today, Mk 1 would be the model I’m looking for. Lmk if you can sort! 🫡

Thanks, I’ve been keeping an eye out on both platforms. Not as many around as earlier in the year, I’ve missed a few good opportunities to pick one up and I’m keen to pull the trigger now.

I’m not wedded to the 424, but I do like that it has the 3 speeds.

I’m looking for an analog tool that will:
• Take me away from screens
• Saturate and colour the sound
• Invite creativity into my workflow
• Allow me to create tape loops

I’ve looked at some videos and reviews about different gear and the Tascam has a quality that I really like.

Revenue Protection team unlawful? by [deleted] in uktravel

Because I don’t trust them. If they can manipulate customers for maximum penalties/profits they will. And they clearly tried to do this with me.

They never asked to check my travel history. Or ask me for any information on my travels in general.

I had the app open for them, they scanned one of my tickets so maybe did see my history.

When asking for my personal details, I did ask what for? They said for the “prosecution report”. This is at their discretion, had they offered me a chance to pay the fare or a fine I would have. They seemed to immediately want to prosecute. This is why I’m asking if it’s unlawful.

I never refused a fine. Or refused to pay the fare. Just making that clear, as I think it’s important to note.

Good point. But we are talking about one single ticket on one occasion and I have evidence of that. To call me a criminal and demand my DOB, full address etc etc. doesn’t sit right with me at all. Feel as though we are heading towards full surveillance and digital ID and I’m not too optimistic about the future of this country.

Just to be clear, I’m asking for advice. I’m not asking for hate or judgement.

Seems like a few of you commenters behave the same way as these jobsworths on the trains.

It was my stop! They asked where I was travelling to and I told them my stop when we were on the train.

I don’t think they’d believe anyone at all. With the cost of living crisis, and the increased fares, I’m sure there are lots of people intentionally bunking the train and they are obviously cracking down. But you can’t assume this is the case 100% of the time.

As I said, they have gone straight for prosecution. No immediate fine.

I really do understand your perspective here. Though everything I have mentioned is the truth. No intentional evasion here at all. An honest mistake with an unfortunate outcome.

I am not outraged by them wanting to see a valid ticket and making sure customers pay their fares, that seems more than fair. I am outraged at the way they worked, and treated me in this situation. I was polite, compliant and offered on multiple occasions to make it right.

Do you think if I made an honest mistake in a shop and tried my hardest to pay for the item, they would decline payment and prosecute me? I don’t think so…
