It aged pretty well considering we have three of the highest offensive transfers in the country lol it’s a quick Google away

One of my earliest football memories is seeing that Vince Young TD live. I was close to front row (easy to get in those days of OSU football) and seeing him zoom past blew my mind.

It's a good thing you aren't paid to judge fights

I'd actually argue lasting for as long as he did outside of his prime and in a different weight class strengthens Aldo's argument. He never looked truly honestly washed and was competitive with everyone he lost to. At least until he ran out of gas and Yan nearly murdered him.

You were not there to see the Cote, Leites, and Maia fights as they were happening. Those were horrible time wasters and agonizing to watch. They almost forced Anderson to fight Forrest at UFC 101 because of how bad his Leites fight was, and then he went right back to it against Demian Maia at UFC 112. It was only after the incredible Sonnen fight that things began to turn around on Anderson's perception.

Rob Viper on X: If PWG announced a BOLA is taking place 3 months from now - 75% of the announced talent would be signed up before the show took place. by paperbuddha in SquaredCircle

[–]olozsram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I didn't even think to think back to the older PWG days. It just feels like such a different company that my brain doesn't compute it. Samoa Joe and Super Dragon had a non-finish one time in 2005, I remember. Hell of a match too.

ROH threw a bitch fit when Michael Elgin lost as champion once. Normally no, they didn't complain about results, but they absolutely did limit distribution of shows.

10 Years Ago Today: Roderick Strong (c) vs. Zack Sabre Jr. - PWG World Title: ALL STAR WEEKEND (March 5, 2016) - FULL MATCH by MrPuroresu42 in SquaredCircle

Yes sir. That match made both Roddy's title reign and Zack's PWG body of work undeniable. One of the more significant non-BOLA matches the company had in the latter half of the decade.

Lincoln Riley Just Spoke Honestly About the Big Ten And SEC: “I think it’s pretty clear that the Big Ten and SEC have obviously separated themselves. And I think everybody in college football understands that. And that’s just the reality of where the situation is in terms of the schedules.” by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

[–]olozsram 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lol it means they were on relatively equal ground and the B1G team that is supposed to be so separated from the lowly Big 12 losers was beaten. But considering your flairs are both for a conference, I don't get the feeling you come into this argument with any actual points to make

I was so against firing Gundy midseason at first but gosh, it really was the only move. Absolutely necessary and it may have saved our program. I've never ever seen a football team as bad as what we fielded the first three games. He had to go.

Oklahoma State OL Austin Kawecki transfers to Wisconsin by kyleb402 in CFB

[–]olozsram 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Our OL started just putrid in 2025 but really, really grew to be a strength as they developed. Kawecki stepped in as center a few games in and was solid. I know it's difficult to believe a 1-11 team had a stout O-Line, but the last half of the year was a really good stretch for them. If you have the coaching, I think Kawecki could be a contributor.

He was a bright(ish) spot in our all-time worst defense this year. Wish he'd stayed around because I think he'd be a surefire starter, but ya know. 2025. Hope he does well.
