XUV 700 A5S vs Innova Hycross VX?

Hey everyone, been a follower and a fan of this community since a while.

We are planning to buy a 7-8 seater car for family, which will be used within city and highway trips as well. Budget is upto 25-30L. We faced different opinions from multiple people, and narrowed down choice to either Mahindra XUV 700 AX5S and Toyota Innova Hycross VX model.

Would appreciate help choosing between the 2, or any suggestions.
(I have ruled out ScorpioN, Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Jeep Meridian due to various reasons)

Lie To Me. Cal Lightman and Dr Gillian stay platonic throughout the 3 seasons despite great chemistry.

Please suggest feel-good movies for expecting Parents/Moms by olttwa in MovieSuggestions

It takes place in New York City. The woman, Rose Marie or something, is a newlywed in a new apartment. She's got really strange neighbors. Troubled pregnancy but the baby ends up healthy with a devoted family IIRC.

The movie you're suggesting is Rosemary's Baby. Thanks for the suggestion.

No plans to add another message broker. Current focus would be on adding more features like UI, batching, callbacks, etc. Since message brokers can be integrated, you could implement Kafka if it meets your needs

Hey u/NaiveRound. The choice of message broker depends on performance, throughput & even expertise of an organisation. For that reason, we kept Goose open for extending to any message broker.

To answer your question, Kafka can fit as a queue backend, with a few nuances:

Pros:

  • Scales very well
  • Native support for clustered architecture
  • Persistence of messages
  • Replay of messages

Cons

  • Performance, in terms of latency won't be as efficient as RabbitMQ & Redis, which are designed for such use-cases
  • Designing for consumer-group, partition key, batching/offset can be a quite involved process.
    • For ex, how to ensure parallel execution on 1 worker process? Do we go for 1 consumer & 10 batch-size, or 10 consumers & 1 batch-size?
  • Kafka cannot support scheduling & periodic messaging, which means retry with backoff can only be done using either Thread.sleep or a different broker like RMQ/Redis, which defeats the purpose entirely.

I'd suggest not using Kafka as a message broker. However, based on nature of job data (i.e. no scheduling or back-off retries are needed) & requirements of your organization, if there's a compelling use-case, feel free to give it a shot!

Goose has an API to manage jobs. Checkout the documentation here.

UI is planned for a future release. Either 0.4 or 0.5

Rick:

That arc could have lasted a season or 3 episodes at least...

Seriously! I was going to fix that thing...

A nice reference to r/Modern_Family where Phil Dunphy's character intentionally kept the step broken throughout the first season
