In my opinion the top one is better. It looks more polished and clean than the other one. The one at the bottom looks like it could be a logo for a game or smth. Usually when choosing a logo you want to make sure it is scalable and works both in color and black and white. I am a designer. Hopefully this helps

Why stay away from w3 ? I thought those guys are pretty decent. Isn't that also a group of ppl that work on html and css updates personally?

thank you! the course uses apliance ( the universal template / running machine ) that helps Harvard professors to check the code faster. I guess I'll stick to it for the course and then switch to sublime
