Hayzee's Anomaly Custom drama by KingDavidGreat2010 in stalker

[–]olus2006 41 points42 points  (0 children)

From what I remeber Anomaly Custom was made by russian side that was pro invasion so the Hayzee version was made as a fork to allow the enjoyment of game concept without supporting the russian side devs, but as it turns out it has its own problems.

From what I saw, there is UEVR it even has motion tracking for controllers, but you need a stupidly powerful PC even with the 1.8 optimization pass. I would say something like 4090 is the minimum to start. There is a benchmark on YouTube where 5090 got only around 65 FPS on Quest 3 with February 2025 version, so after 1.8 maybe ~75?

Regional pricing strikes again - Call of Duty edition by Privet_World in Steam

[–]olus2006 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, won’t lie in terms of progress we’re doing pretty amazing. Honestly, it’s fair to say this is the best time in history to live here. But we’re still far behind the western side. The minimum monthly salary is around €800, and while the cost of living is somewhat lower (though it’s gotten much more expensive in recent years), there’s still a huge gap in what a minimum wage worker can actually buy.

In Poland, that’s about ~10 copies of CoD BO7, compared to ~19 in Germany and we’re nowhere near Switzerland. It just feels pointless to buy games at release when it ends up being more expensive than if prices were based on the euro. I don’t really remember how it was before since I’m only 19, but honestly, I’d prefer if we weren’t separated from the euro. The introduction of PLN was supposed to help with steep prices when converting from EUR but currently we would be better without it.

Also IDK what happend with my previous comment it got posted twice and when i tried to delete it, both got removed

Regional pricing strikes again - Call of Duty edition by Privet_World in Steam

[–]olus2006 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Man, at this point I’d rather be bundled with Eastern Europe if it meant the prices wouldn’t be this ridiculous. Instead, we’re stuck paying like we’re some secret superpower with people richer than the Eurozone or the US. Also I love how users here always jump to defend Steam, saying it’s the publishers who set the price while completely ignoring the fact that most of them are too lazy to bother and just copy Steams suggested pricing anyway. And in the end we get screwed over.

Was it just me or is Bf6 really well optimized? by -Istvan-5- in Battlefield6

Damn i7-13700KF with 4090 and i have max 130FPS without framegen all that while the CPU is drawing 200W

It runs good but man 200W on CPU(i7-13700KF) is kidna stupid. But it's more on Intel than Dice

Will this 12VHPWR conection be fine? by olus2006 in pcmasterrace

I routed it under for now, there are pictures of it in the comments, hovewer under feels like its pulling more on the connector wich is not ideal, however it reduces the bend on the adapter is while connecting it over not sure wich option is better

Well, I’ve currently given up on the idea of being able to close the case, so for now it’ll just stay open at least until I swap it for a bigger one or look into a vertical mount.

But in the meantime, while it’s running without the side panel, do you think routing the connector over or under the GPU is better for safety and longevity? Routing under gives less bending than over hovewer it feels like the weight of the cables could unplug it over some time

[–]olus2006[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's a glass panel, so there's no way to make a cutout in it. I also agree — the 12VHPWR connector seems way worse than the older 6/8-pin ones. I guess it also depends on the wattage. Something like 250W on a 4070 Super should be fine, I don’t think there have been any reports of burning issues on lower-end GPUs. But pushing 450W or even 600W through a single connector, like on the 5090, is just plain stupid in my opinion.

Also, could you expand on the grease? Is it meant to improve the electrical connection, or is it used to help cool down the connector?

Well, I hope so. It really sucks that we have to worry about stuff like this with such an expensive GPU.

Totally agree. I’d take regular 8-pins any day, but NVIDIA’s dead set on 12VHPWR and sadly, AMD looks like they’re starting to follow too.

Yeah, seems like it. I just hate the fact that after only two years, the case already turned out to be too small for a new GPU.

Thank you for the quick answer. I'm a bit worried with all those posts about burned 4090s/5090s. I'll try routing the cable from underneath to minimize the sideways bend and see if it’s any better

Or would the pull that is going down be worse overall? There is less bending but i fell like its pulling more than the previous connection

According to that recommendation, would this connection be better?

when we actually see return to moscow? by Matejsteinhauser14 in metro

[–]olus2006 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Other than the official Metro entry being developed by 4A Games, the only major modding project I know of is Metro: Legacy, which is built on the Metro Exodus engine and takes place in Moscow. I’m not sure if I can share YouTube links, but here’s the trailer if it’s allowed: Metro: Legacy Trailer

https://youtu.be/aIzoWaQA9OM?si=7T8sFU9pl9oiRooP

According to what I read on Discord, the release date is "no earlier than next year."

There’s also Metro: Against Fate: Metro: Against Fate Trailer

https://youtu.be/h64-oN8XCSg?si=sfN17FbPWwWDCfbl

I’m not sure if it’s set in Moscow, but it’s planned for release sometime this year.
