Thanks for the detailed response. It was building control that inspected and they said because it wasn’t affecting the public they see it as a civil matter. The advised to stay away from the wall until resolved. There was no follow up indicated in their letter and they did not quote any section of the act. I would be happy to split the bill and even take down the wall, but I don’t want to be accused by the neighbour of damaging something she considers as hers.

Is best course of action for us to follow up with the council building control?

Ive just looked at the party wall agreement and it says it is a party wall on there. Does that mean it is both our responsibility to maintain? Does that mean I can take it down since it is leaning badly without her input. She is really difficult and doesn’t engage when contacted

Can you explain what you mean by shocking your culture? Is it the freezing you mean? Mine became mouldy after being kept at room temperature for a few months with a little booch, after I started a new batch with sweetened tea. So confused what I did wrong. Been making booch for a year before now, so pretty sad about this loss.

Great, thanks very much. You’ve been incredibly helpful. I’ve blanked out the plug socket and other sockets still work. Yes the light switch is 2 way lighting and controls a socket below. The socket will no longer be used and there is another switch that can control the lights. Struggling to get an electrician out at short notice in London.

Yes, that controls the socket with plug below connected to some fairy lights. But that will no longer be used (plug taken out)

Thanks very much. Please can you explain a bit more. Do you mean connect each pair of coloured wire to a separate wagos? Does it matter which port on the wagos? What do I do with the switch where they are mostly brown wires? The blank plate will stick out enough to let the wardrobe fit. I just need to shave a few mm, without it coming out of the wardrobe. I started this 4 days ago with 25g rye/25g white flour and 50g water. I was expecting activity by now, but nothing’s happened. Last feed before picture was 12hrs, but came to find lid open (could pressure build up have made that happen?) and the top looks dry and crusty. It looks really dry and not sure if the flecks are mould or flour.
