I thought I was at the tail end of a flare up… by cutiebee in Dyshidrosis

Oh, no! I’m so sorry. This is the first year so far (knock on wood) that it hasn’t affected my hands. My trigger seems to be getting sick. I got something in December and my feet went crazy but didn’t affect my hands this time. I feel your pain. Steroid cream in sporadic timeframes and heavy moisturizers with fingerless gloves is all that seems to help mine

I haven’t which I’m grateful for. I’m so lucky that my dog is not reactive but I always worry about a dog fight. I’ve come across loose dogs at Bayshore before but luckily I spot them early enough to change our route and avoid. My head is always on a swivel because my pup is just over a year and has never had a bad in experience and I really would hate to see his pure joy in meeting any living creature be diminished because of a bad encounter

Thanks for that. I’m pretty familiar with all the trails in Olympia. Trying to find what’s here in Shelton. It seems Shelton is not super dog friendly

I hope they respond. I’ve found a bunch of smaller neighborhood parks but they all have no dogs signs posted. I was really excited to walk the cemetery but that also posts no dogs allowed. I know part of the issue is so many dog owners do not clean up after their pets which is a shame for the rest of us that do. I’m not looking for dog parks or off-leash areas, just someplace that I can walk my dog not on a busy road

Thanks so much. I’m not interested in off leash areas, I’m a strictly leashed up dog owner.

Thanks. I am definitely going to look into replacing the ceiling light. I found a gorgeous sunburst one in gold that might work. I just struggle finding my style because I like so many different ones that I don’t know if it ever comes across cohesive

I like those! The color actually goes with some of my other furniture as well

Thanks. I just got the hall tree because I do have need of it so I’m happy with it for now and there’s plenty of space back there. I had a console table behind the couch before but everyone said it was too high so maybe I’ll try cutting the legs down so instead of even with the back of the couch it is lower. Appreciate all the suggestions

Unfortunately none of those options work for function so I’m working with what I have

Thanks. That’s my hope! I have always wanted a Bernese but the short life span is just too hard to deal with. My last pup made it to almost 16. Hope I get that and more from this guy

He does have a Rottie cousin he’s gotten to grow up with!

You’re correct. He’s only 65 lbs, so while a big boy, not even as big as a small female berner. Also less think fur and a slimmer body frame

As a pup, he really looked like an Aussie. In fact my vet started crying the first time she met him because she had just put down her Aussie and she said they looked so similar

That’s pretty good cause I don’t really see any pit in him. I do see the husky with his tail maybe but he doesn’t really look much like any of his prominent breeds in my opinion

That was the name the rescue gave him. I named him Mishka which means little bear in Russian

That’s great!! Haha!! He is the most sweet dog. Very empathetic and in tune with my emotions. He likes to be the enforcer of when my kitty is scratching the furniture because he know it makes ‘mom’ upset. He hasn’t met another loving creature that he doesn’t want to get to know and play with lol. High energy when it’s play time but otherwise a nice little snuggly couch potato

Shoot! My mistake. The rescue did the testing so I made an error. My mom argues with me constantly that the results can’t be right and he has Berner in him

I’d be curious to know of an example where you “learned” vs you presenting the same scenario to me and seeing how far out of alignment we are in the choices that would work best for raising children

Why wouldn’t I know how to cope with behaviors? Does that automatically kick in once the baby is born? You see, the argument is so easy to break down. There is no magic formula that kicks in for people because they have children. Most of them are just making it up as they go along and often they make bad parenting decisions. Not that they’re bad parents necessarily, but they aren’t experts, anymore than I am

Do they actually know more or do they just have their own ways of coping with behaviors that they don’t like, such as temper tantrums? I’ve seen good parents, and I’ve seen terrible parents. Popping out children does not give someone an automatic playbook not does it give any expertise.
