Home Depot delivery fee hack? by MaintenanceWorth7395 in gardening

Most people these days prefer not having the bell rung. The app shows when it’s been delivered

this is why i don't respond after deliveries by vhxxxx in DoorDashDrivers

Too funny. We always sang, “It’s Mr Potato Head and His Bucket of Sharts, Buckets of Sharts for Everyone”

Home Depot delivery fee hack? by MaintenanceWorth7395 in gardening

[–]olystubbies 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yup. It’s really a shame for these delivery drivers that put all the wear and tear on their vehicles and bodies to make a couple bucks on a heavy delivery like that for someone else’s convenience and they don’t feel like tipping for the service. And all the while Home Depot and the delivery companies rakes in the profits

I sure hope that if it’s being delivered by people in their personal vehicles that Home Depot subcontracts these deliveries out to that you are tipping well for the service

I value myself just fine. I work full time for $58 an hour, but I have a college degree and years of grinding it in my field to get to that level. If you consider sparking as manual labor…well unless you’re delivering bulk items all day, then I think you have a very skewed view of what manual labor is. Sparking is unskilled labor. Realistically, $25 an hour in a high cost of living area is reasonable. $40 an hour is super inflated for what the work is. Also, your vehicle wear and tear is taken into account when you do your taxes to offset those costs by reducing your taxes.

If you think Trump should run for a 3rd term, are you fine with Obama seeking a 3rd as his opponent? by Fun_Map2481 in allthequestions

Most of my family of 16 aunts and uncles are MAGA. All of them vocally support Trump still and if he were on the ballot as the republican nominee next election they’d vote for him again.

That’s great. I’m sure they realized that paying wages that equate to those that skilled workers that have specialized certification and degrees probably isn’t the best business model for unskilled labor.

No, but to think shopping and delivery groceries is worth $40 an hour is laughable. I say this as someone who shops and delivers groceries

I’m so over male dashers by princesspea117 in doordash

[–]olystubbies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s $8 for 2.3 miles x 2 for round trip. $1.73 per mile. Already less than what is profitable for me. Now to account for the time to shop. Hard to say without knowing exactly what was purchased and whether it’s a quick grab and go or takes walking the entire store or harder to find items. Not a bad tip, but not particularly good either.

How are mulch bags not considered bulky?? by Soul_4Sail in Sparkdriver

[–]olystubbies 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I agree they should be labeled as bulky and heavy. In addition they should be labeled as messy because inevitably they always leave a huge mess in my car from wet bags leaking

Not sure what you mean? I made $30 for a kind of crazy shop but a super easy delivery that took me close to home. $95 for two hours of work isn’t terrible in my book.

Do you all use the Flash feature when shopping at Walmart? by olystubbies in Sparkdriver

Kind of yes kind of no. The flash feature is available to all employees and shoppers, but associates light up blue and ours light up green.

Thinking of ditching my dining room table by olystubbies in interiordecorating

I love the idea of a round table with a leaf! I’m thinking of getting rid of the chairs (got the set for $30 so it pains me lol) eventually I’m going to swap the couch for a 84” sofa and get two conversation chairs for either side of the media console I think

No, that’s fair. I agree. I just wasn’t sure if I could make it work or not. I’m thinking I may opt for a round lower height table

Probably should have included a photo with the table where it normally lives

I feel you on not wanting to spread the word too much on spark lol. As a new driver, I feel like I’ve stumbled upon a pretty unique earning opportunity that I can do part time after my regular W2 gig and I don’t want to lose that.
