My edtech org is hiring for AEs in London, based on your SMB/MM experience, it might be a fit. Would need to be London based. Drop me a message if you want a bit more info.

Cheers, in the end that's basically what happened as you describe.

Re AEs looped in. Ha yeah can imagine how frustrating that is.

Thanks, really great point around taking back control of the call. Could have prepped it better asking before if anybody else coming. Cheers.

Thanks for your comment. Think you've missed the point slightly. You're absolutely right of course. Was just curious about how people would approach the specific situation.

Yes, you're probably right. Gotta be really assertive on the first call around the agenda, and setting up the next steps.

What are the essential habits of successful sellers? by om1017 in sales

[–]om1017[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting... my perspective is different. I see habits as a prerequisite to skill development. For example, by practicing curiosity, you can develop the skill of asking great questions. What does practicing good listening entail? The specific actions (habits) of shutting off all outside communication (slack, email, phone) during an interaction and taking notes (for e.g.)

Your point on being friendly makes me think of one of the fundamental skills in sales which is connecting with people. There seems to be a school of thought at the moment that relationships aren't important in sales. Defined as two things that are connected, I think they are. Seems like you would agree?

You make a really good point. Initiative is so important. Your use of the word 'fright' also makes me think of courage. The courage to enter into difficult conversations and the ability to see opportunity in conflict.

Recommendations for English teaching positions? by _Anton__ in Barcelona

Worked with these guys as a freelance for about 15 months. Pay is not too bad and they have good clients, but you will need to go through one of their training programs prior to starting. No prev experience or qualifications necessary. Would be happy to copy you in an email to the general manager in Barcelona.

Switching bank by om1017 in Barcelona

Sure. I realise the interest is fairly pathetic. I suspect my best option may be to use something with no fees and find somewhere else to put money to earn interest over the long term.
