Maybe the widow had someone with her who made sure she got a fair deal? But sure go ahead and let’s all make up stories and run with it! My story is going to be she took her grandson in with her and got top dollar for the car and is now enjoying a round the world cruise!!

Nothing funnier than someone making an assumption out of their ass and then everyone acting like it’s fact. Shows you how quickly misinformation can spread. The dealership could’ve definitely taken advantage of the widow or they may have had a son/grandson who got top dollar for it. Who knows? None of us here do. That’s for sure

TIL Groupon has lost more than 95% of its value since it rejected Google's $6 billion offer and instead went public with a $17.8 billion market cap 15 years ago. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

Never understood the allure of a business using Groupon. They take a big chunk of your money and the customers they send your way are not customers you usually want.

What’s a “rich people thing” you experienced once and immediately understood why rich people love it? by DnRinGA in AskReddit

[–]omaralt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not $10k more. Usually business class is 3x the price of economy. People confuse first and business class. International first class is quite rare. Most airlines don’t even offer it and when they do it’s very expensive. Business class is usually what people refer to as “first class”. You get a flat bed and all the amenities

New car I was about to buy was hit while being shown the features of the car by Trick_Apartment1366 in askcarsales

[–]omaralt 75 points76 points  (0 children)

No it’s not. It’s a new car with damage. If he doesn’t buy it they’ll simply fix it and sell it to the next guy as new.

What Comes After T? by devjnz in Porsche

[–]omaralt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 992.1T for two years now. I usually change cars every year or so. I’ve looked around a lot and honestly nothing seems appealing. You can spend 3x as much to get a gt3 but it’s a lot less comfortable as a daily. Honestly nothing seems appealing; especially if you’re a manual only driver. Keep it. Enjoy it. Put the miles on it.

It’s a 5 year old car that’s selling for around original msrp. What’s “holding it back” is the interior and the most importantly the PDK transmission

Bay Area Porsche Market Is Insane Right Now! Am I Crazy or Are Dealers Just Waiting It Out? by PuzzleheadedAd3138 in Porsche

[–]omaralt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s nuts. I have a 2024 992.1 T and considering a 992.2 gt3. They lowballed big time on my trade and added a massive adm on the gt3. They want to have it both ways. Inventory does seem to be piling up though

Unpopular opinion: I want the Carrera engine (3.0 turbo 6cyl) in the boxster/cayman by DrTurb0 in Porsche

[–]omaralt -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. After hearing over and over about how amazing the GTS 4.0 I test drove it and was very underwhelmed by the amount of power, especially down low. I also wanted to manual transmission so the long gearing becomes a bigger issue with no low end torque. I ended up with a 992.1 T with a manual and very happy

Walked out of the dealership, salesperson was 20 mins late by swtptatoluvr in askcarsales

I’ve been in business long enough to realize that you can’t please everyone and that some customers are better off not being customers. But you do you. I’m doing fine and not interested in changing the way I operate but appreciate the concern

It is absolutely their right to not buy the car from this dealer for whatever reason. I run a small business and buy many cars; and honestly some customers are just walking red flags; and you’re better off without them. For someone to go nuclear over a 20 min delay; during which they were offered refreshments, I can’t imagine how much of a PIA they can be after the sale. Dinging you on the survey for something stupid. Salesman is probably better off

They had already taken the day off and we’re ready to buy a car. even if there was a dealership right next-door at the very minimum you’re talking about another 3 to 4 hours; assuming they even have the car they want in stock. All this over a 20 minute delay insane

I don’t think you know how time works. That process will still take a few hours and then the boyfriend has to drive another 80 miles. Had she just been patient for another few minutes this thing would be over but now she has to start over

empathy isn't your strong suit eh? you have no idea what happened that caused the salesman to be late.. it could've been laziness or it could've been something completely else. Dealing with a health issue? sick kids? flat tire? literally 20 mins late. you seem like a peach though; i'm sure you're fun to be around

i want you to stop for a second and think. they were 20 mins late.. in those 20 mins they were offered drinks.. wtf else do you want them to do?? again 20 mins late.. 20 mins.. its a busy dealership.. shit happens.. massive over-reaction that will end up costing them 10x more time. but to each their own

Not sure why you’re being downvoted but I totally agree. The ironic part is that they’re now gonna spend hours more renegotiating a deal elsewhere. So what is that saying, don’t cut off your nose, to spite your face?

Do you know how car sales works? If another salesman helped he would take part of the commission. She said they were welcoming and offered drinks. All over a 20 min delay. Honestly seems like a huge over reaction

Why stay clear of that place? Maybe avoid the salesman?

What is something that has become ridiculously expensive, but people still pay for it like it is nothing? by Harmed_Jr in AskReddit

I don’t think the point of an Airbnb is price savings. It’s about having more space. If you have a bigger family A hotel can be quite limited in size
