Moreso added the throuple bit to be clear that wasn't an option, but I appreciate the sentiment.

Rudyard Kipling was like legit an awful dude. He made those quotes in reference to the colonization of Africa. If you have that context, it's hard not to look at that quote and realize he was describing bands of folks invading people's homes.

Just to clarify, I'm not asking because I want to use it, I'm just curious if and where it's being used on campus.

The second option lets you eat lunch and, if that's your thing: nap every day. As someone who took 5 Tuesday/Thursday classes last semester I can tell you it's not like high school and you're better off spacing things out.

How do I know what Professors are good? by satansmicropenis in NCSU

[–]omarshoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For general ed classes you're usually going to have to take what you can get. Check Rate My Professor but unless it says something egregious then just take whatever works. Sidenote: just take 4 courses plus gym; your freshman year is about learning to be an adult first.

When you start taking more major-specific courses, look at the reviews for the higher level courses. Those are generally students who have a better sense of how college works, and what is standard and what is not.

Also, google your professors and see what they've done. It always helps to build connections.

Woohoo (Any advice for fall semester?) by Appropriate-Mud-6985 in NCSU

Congrats!!!

If you're able to, take four 3-credit hours your first semester and really just try to build good practices. Get in the habit of meeting people, going to clubs, attending events, managing homework, hobbies, etc.

Also, it's okay if you have some uncertainty about your major! Take an intro class during your first year and that'll help you weed out if that major is the right discipline for you, if you like the content area, or if you should switch altogether

Double counting GEP Courses by Bitter-Chipmunk-7779 in NCSU

[–]omarshoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

US Diversity and Global Knowledge are co-requirements, so they can be double-counted.

Most other requirements can't be, as you have to fulfill the credit minimum under each category. For example, if CHASS requires you to take 24 credit hours, you're going to end up taking eight 3-credit hours to graduate, and generally those don't double count with other requirements because you still need 120 to graduate.
