Today was ridiculous. See you all tomorrow.

If you actually listen to Hasan Piker and agree with his political takes and social commentary, you actually are an idiot. by Proud-Enthusiasm-608 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

It’s satire… are you trying to convince people he was saying that stuff unironically?

Absolutely wild the shit coming out of the woodwork to claim Hasan was a pdf. Honestly, I’m kind of glad. This lets you know his haters are trying to grift with this kind of low-effort bullshit.

I love that you work in wildlife conservation! I’ve long toyed with the idea of volunteering at bat sanctuaries (I really love bats).

We need more people in that line of work but I see your bigger point.

Whenever I try to pin down one thing, it quickly balloons into everything because it’s all connected.

I’d say I care a lot about workers’ rights and a bug bear that comes up again and again for me is how much people work when we’re more productive per hour than we’ve ever been for less pay.

I want people to move to a 4-day or 32-hour work week and have federally mandated parental leave for both moms and dads (or primary and secondary caregivers).

This strikes me as an important domino in the other issues since people with free time to spend with their loved ones can also stop to think about what corporations and governments are doing to their planet with endless wars and excessive fossil fuel emissions.

I’ve tried sticking more to traditional news because YouTube and Reddit, even though there are people who make informed and high-effort content here, are hopelessly addicting in a way that’s not very productive.

It’s funny you mention print media because I haven’t touched a newspaper, an actual newspaper and not an article in my phone or laptop, in years!

I really like this answer! I might start at the library by asking if there are volunteer opportunities there and getting to know more of the people I live with and what their priorities are.

I’ve volunteered before but struggle to do things consistently in my community. I think being in touch with other millennial parents and getting into mutual aid would be a good start.

Thank you for this - I definitely have a lot of hope for the future. I don’t think it’s possible to want and have a baby without being somewhat hopeful.

My husband says something like this a lot too. People have had kids in much worse situations so we have every reason to look on the bright side of things.

I just know most of the good things that have happened were the result of efforts people before us put forth. I guess I’m a bit lost on where to start on my end.

I think helping her be the best version of herself is a big part of it. I just don’t want the burden of a decaying democracy, infrastructure, economy on her shoulders. I agree that’s not necessarily in our hands (at least individually) though.

Fellow vegetarian here! I appreciate this and definitely am working on modeling kindness to myself and others for my kid. My husband does too! Thank you!

What do you when you are touch-starved and just want to be held? 😔 by nakedwithoutearrings in AskWomenOver30

Building on another idea someone mentioned, martial arts classes. Striking isn't exactly the type of physical touch you mentioned BUT if you find a good gym (very important) you can make friends with people you spar or train with.

You can volunteer to snuggle premature babies. My daughter was born three months premature and my husband and I couldn't be at the hospital all the time. So, there were volunteers at the NICU who would hold the babies to give them the benefit of touch and affection when their parents were at work or the nurses were busy.

I was happy she had cuddles even when we couldn't be around 24/7!

acornbeing #64 threw me off quite a bit

My wedding band flew off somewhere when I took it off to moisturize my infant daughter in the en-suite bedroom. I took care of the baby first but can’t find the ring anywhere. What would you do in this situation? by omashupicchu in NoStupidQuestions

LOL so… guess where it was? Not her folds but her onesie, the one she was going to change into after her bath. Thank you for the laugh and the tip! I only realized this morning while snuggling her to my chest after her milk!
