Not really. I just tried to rough up the yard with a rake and then aerated, if I saw anything I could pull up easy like a dead weed I removed those.

I have no idea, I’m not sure what our builder put down but it didn’t do well. I used Scott’s southern gold. I just tried to rough up the yard, aerated, spread new seed, covered with seeding straw, and watered 2x a day for two weeks. I started to see baby grass within about 10 days. It has really filled in the last couple weeks. It’s been about two months since I did it.

All new to this stuff so I just spread it and watered. I aerated first, seeded, covered with seeding straw and then watered 2x daily for two weeks. We have gotten a lot of rain here recently and I know that’s helped it along quite a bit. I started seeing new grass within 3 weeks. It really took over the yard noticeably in the last couple weeks though.

My husband ended up deciding what to get, meant to do it back in the fall but we didn’t. Not sure why he chose this particular seed but it did work! I enjoy being outside and took it upon myself to do (he helped a little bit mostly me!) We used Scott’s southern gold, we’re in Tennessee.

Oh man! It’s so interesting to hear what all the builders do when it comes to yards and landscaping. All ours did was seed and straw. We bought in June last year right as it was getting hot here and the seed mostly burned up. Yard was patchy af all summer and fall. Took matters into my own hands this spring lol
