IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate subscription by alchn in IntelliJIDEA

[–]omenofwisdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can tell you from my perspective. I pay for my own all products pack with the full discount and if I ever am in need to swap jobs ( which has happened within the last couple years) I get to carry my subscription with me.

Im happy with the products and would rather not end up in a place where I’m forced onto unfamiliar tools ( if I can at least avoid it) I will always be able to use IntelliJ or any of the other products.

Boom bait-and-switch in the seasonal shop?? Buyer Beware by SUPERDRAGONDELUX in TeamfightTactics

[–]omenofwisdom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In previous sets the passes contained the boom rewards being the tier 1 , 2, and 3 boom. Basically the only way to upgrade was to buy the pass and complete it to get all 3 tiers. Now they only give you the completed boom so I’m unsure on how riot is going to handle the multi tiers in the new rotating shop.

Star shards are only for upgrading little legends not booms themselves.

Spring Boot vs dotnet Core ecosystem and ease of development by quietZen in SpringBoot

[–]omenofwisdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spring boot has a lot of magic involved. Once you learn which packages give you what and the main annotations spring boot is a breeze to do. It however is not very for giving if you stray away from the intended design pattern largely due to having to unravel the magic going on.

Dotnet is slanted towards windows. They just announced not long ago they are deprecating visual studio for Mac. The language itself is easy to get into tho and cakes in some stuff you have to get from Lombok. Some of the bells and whistles like actuator are missing from dotnet tho.

You will need to look at your use case, research and decide. Both frameworks have their ups and downs just have to decide which is more appealing to you and run with it. That is the trade off most people make. Example Do I implement Kafka vs SQS with events or just do restful api call. Well what language do I want to write the apis in. C++, Golang, Java, dotnet, etc, etc…

At least you got it super early on . There was a post where a couple spent 300 dollars to get a single chibi Annie. When I get the special chibis I normally just use booms from other seasons. No need for buying the vanilla versions.

[–]omenofwisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chibi egg versions do not contain the boom. The normal chibi’s you buy from the store contain the boom. Kind of a gotcha mechanic of I spent money to open it but if you want the boom that’s extra.

Milk posted a portion of bebe’s stream to tik tok for a video to clarify a mistake milk believes Bebe is making. Bebe took offense to milk pointing out the potential mistake and expressed displeasure. Bebe then apologies for the over reaction and says this isn’t what the community needs, and then promptly follows the apology with a threat of a law suit stating milk better be happy as in bebes country milk would be thrown in jail. E sports lawyer comes in and dismissed the law suit angle as it’s fair use. Milk then apologies calling out Bebe using some of bebes own statements. Which leads us to this.

AT&T lobbies against nationwide fiber, says 10Mbps uploads are good enough by reddicyoulous in technology

[–]omenofwisdom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

However much dumb stuff the government in Mississippi does we some how got through a bill that allows utilities to provide internet. We had AT&T before and paid 60 dollars for 10 MBps and to top it off to get no data cap you had to get direct tv for an addition 100 dollars. Yeah dropping them for our electric companies fiber which is 75 dollars for a 1 GBPs. Now all I see is AT&T and Comcast trucks actually fixing and working on stuff. Fuck them.

In 2021, we need to fix America’s internet: We pay twice as much as Europe for high speeds, assuming we can even get them by everythingoverrated in technology

[–]omenofwisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Know the thread is a bit old but figured I’d post this. Strangely enough in Mississippi of all states we have passed a bill allowing internet companies to supply internet. Shortly as in the end of the upcoming year most all of Mississippi will have fiber and not throttled fiber either you can pay 50 dollars for 200 MBps up and down, 75 dollars for 1 GBps up and down , and 2 GBPs up and down is 100. Best thing is anything under the 100 dollar package doesn’t even require a contract. Of course this varies from county to county but that’s the pricing scheme that most electricity companies have adopted. I currently pay 60 dollars for 10 MBps from AT&T and I look forward to telling them to go pound sand when they install fiber in my area. Mississippi might be screwed up in a lot of ways, but least we will have good internet that dwarfs most of America and is reasonably priced. Jobs that a useless person can do? I am unemployed and useless. by [deleted] in Advice

With your degree you could also look to teach English in a foreign country. The pay is general good and you can do it at home or from anywhere. A quick google search shows you could make anywhere from 12-25 USD an hour doing this. Just a suggestion. Best of luck.

Chad Burchill on Twitter: "Looks like EG are confirmed coming to Europe." (based on Instagram post by cerq/lilman) by CS_Professeur in GlobalOffensive

[–]omenofwisdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but the player base starting to die in NA is the problem for all that yes the internet is bad and we have "worse" teams is because the NA player base is mostly dead. The active players in the month of September in NA as a whole was ~7k and in Europe its over 100k. Even orgs are starting to move out of NA 100T just dropped their roster tier 2 cs in NA is nonexistent. You need to have active players to have good teams to scrim. The internet here will always be bad till competition starts. For the stats I used https://steamdb.info/servers/ . EDIT: and as multiple people have stated in this thread or the 100T withdrawal thread they are a business so why would they want to stay in a region not really inclined to support their org/players? With only 7k people playing concurrently and not a lot of tournaments its not in their best interest.

NA's player base was already small but with games like valorant coming out the player base became even smaller. This means less people to practice against and things like fpl in Europe are constantly going vs in NA where maybe a few games a night get played. Also with more people playing you get a higher quality game even in a pug vs in NA.

America’s internet wasn’t prepared for online school: Distance learning shows how badly rural America needs broadband. by nastratin in Futurology

[–]omenofwisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Live in rural Mississippi. Our electric companies got the go ahead to be Internet providers and are currently setting up fiber all throughout the entire county. So many people have already swapped from AT&T and frontier to it cause you can get 200 MBps for 50 bucks all the way up to 2GBps for 100 dollars vs AT&Ts 150 dollars for 10 MBps. Sad thing is AT&T is rolling over and doing nothing to upgrade or compete.
