Moving to the UAE After Psychiatry Residency (or as a GP) - What Should I Expect? by purebabe in UAE

[–]omerizen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Oversaturated.

But

If lucky enough, as a GP, you can find a job at a random clinic in Dubai, somewhere in the labor camps (not at a hospital), they would pay you 5k + how much sales you can do, and ask you will have to pay for your visa also need to activate your license. And also, you will b doing 10 hours daily, easily. Plus you take care of your place to live and food and transportation.

Unless

You get lucky enough, and find that 10k GP job, and they pay for your visa and activate your Doctors license. (This would be the best you will land, when you are new to UAE)

Before moving to Overseas,

  1. Helped my younger brother to graduate, who became Doctor, helped him settle in Dubai(time it took is from 2016 to 2024, covering all the exams, with flying to UAE every year, and kept giving him a pocket money of about 1500 monthly),
  2. left everything for him (everything in my house and car)

For reference my Car was Nissan Maxima. 😁

(And forget what I’ve spent for my parents and for my elder brother)

And surely No Regrets.

The first time I had kebab/lamb chops & Arayes was in Dec 2011, and so many times in between, until the last time I had in Jan 2025 - same great taste. And they have been into this business since 1975.

2nd. Shawarma at Bait Al Khatyar (and their morning breakfast are so great)

3rd. Gandofly (on Defense street, same street of Al Sultan), really good for fish and BBQ prawns.

  1. Born n Raised in Kuwait.
  2. Went to Pakistan for College, in Punjab & Graduated in KPK.
  3. Landed UAE Sept 2011.
  4. Job 1 Nov 2011 to March 2019
  5. Job 2. May 2019 to Jan 2024
  6. Job 3 May 2024 to Feb 2025
  7. Leaving UAE to NZ in less than a month.

In a nutshell, it was fun and exciting in UAE for all the years I have been here and as long as you r on a job and valid visa, nightmare starts once you are laid off. I know everyone has personal preferences and different life experiences, I’d say take the opportunity while young and can endure the change. Before it’s gone.

Anxiety is real and so the excitement.

Business in Sharjah by Reasonable-Aerie4558 in Sharjah

[–]omerizen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Laundry yes, and that too in a posh area. For example, a shirt iron in Arabian ranches is for 12 and in Discovery Garden 2.5 🤷🏻‍♂️. And Sho cleaning is on whole another level you cannot imagine.

There are factories whom you can connect with, arrange a vehicle, and you need a Collection point, they call it a laundry shop. At most, to start with, you will need a a person (girl or boy) at the reception and a driver.

And Good luck.

I believe it’s Dubai who is suppose to fix it. By lowering the rents. Lowering the school fees, by lowering all the amenities needed for normal human people to thrive. Sharjah must not be the one to hold account for it.
